Hello, If your car overheats and damages the engine, you have no one to blame but yourself. Keep your eyes on the temperature gauge and never let the needle move into the red. Pull over before it gets too hot. And to resolve this follow this steps:

1. Turn off the engine.

2. Wait. If the engine is steaming, don't open the hood.

3. Pull the hood release lever under the dashboard to open the hood when the car has cooled completely.

4. Walk around the front of the car, reach under the hood, find the latch and squeeze it. As you squeeze the latch, pull up and open the hood.

5. Check the coolant reservoir tank first. It's a plastic jug that has a small hose running to the radiator. The reservoir can be filled when the engine is hot (except on German and Swedish cars, the plastic reservoir is also under pressure, so don't open when the engine is hot).

6. Open the radiator cap with a rag. Remember: open it only after the engine has completely cooled. If you're not sure, don't open the cap. If you open the cap while it's still warm, you may burn yourself with steam or hot coolant. Open the cap slowly, as if you were opening a bottle of soda that has been shaken up.

7. Examine the radiator. Look inside and see if there's coolant left. If needed, fill to the top of the radiator.

8. Put the radiator cap back on.

9. Check to see that the upper or lower radiator hose, or any of the heater hoses, hasn't burst.

10. Restart the engine.

11. Watch the temperature gauge obsessively. Don't let the needle go into the red. Turn off the engine if the gauge approaches the red zone.
Thanks

2000 dodge caravan heater blowing cold air only car does not overheat

Feel the heater hoses where they go through the firewall. If they're both hot but you're not getting any heat, your blend door is not moving to mix heated air with unheated air. It could be the blend door actuator not working or the HVAC control unit not working.

Why dose gas come out of tail pipe 2001 .3,3L

It's not possible for liquid gasoline to come out of the tailpipe - however, due to chemical processes that take place inside the engine and in the exhaust system which are too in-depth to explain here, it is very common for water to come out of the tail pipe - especially on cooler more humid days.

2001 dodge caravan 3,3L

I was working for a company that used 1995 Caravan's for their sales force and I do not know of any sensor. I am confused by the term "cover".

Do you mean valve cover? If so does the sensor go somewhere? I can solve your problem, but I need move info. Please call or email me.

Either, way let me know the outcome. Your feed back is my only reward. Also, please rank my answer with as many thumbs as you think I should get.

Heat IS blowing out on drivers side, BUT it wont get hot ?
As long as you have heat, but not on passenger side, I would say your diverter is door is not operating, may be vacuum , or electrical, check under dash make sure no vacuum lines are leaking.

2000 Dodge Caravan air conditioner problems

heating and cooling fans are generally one and the same. changing freon doesn't always fix the problem... did you have the system pressure checked for leaks first.

Second determine if the vents are opening properly (switching from heat to cooling) basically when you change to cool it closes air access to the heater core.
