2001 dodge grand caravan sport speedometer not working, gear selector has all lights lit and does not change when changing gears. My husband says that is seems to be in low gear when driving. odometer, gas...

The speedometer is operated by a cable to the transmission. The gear selector is also a manual linkage. Neither are electronic. There may be something stuck underneath inferring with them directly.

I had to jump the battery on my 2001 Grand Caravan. When the engine started the speedometer stopped working. Can you help? Thanks, Bruce

Digital Odometer??
Try this procedure and let me know if this worked for you. I have done this several dozen times and it helped reset the Instrument Cluster.

1. With the Key IN the Ignition and in the OFF (not ACC, On or Start) Position
2. Push in and hold-in the Trip Odometer Reset button.
3. When "sof 4.0" appears: release the Button and WAIT.
4. There maybe some "E" Codes that may appear.
5. Continue to let the System run its course. There should be a great light show on the dash along with the Tach and Speedometer needles dancing all over the place.
6. In about 30-seconds it will complete it's Reset Cycle.

Again let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions REPLY in the Comments Section of this Post.

Instrument panel lights out on 01 Dodge Grand

These vans have had issues with the PIN connections to the instrument clusters. With time the solder on the main PIN connection will begin to fail. The good news this may be repaired at home. First you'll need to remove the instruments. To do so remove the dash components from around the instruments then the (4) screws) that hold the instruments in place. Carefully detach the wire connection from the back of it; take to a well lit area. Look for a PIN with a failed solder joint (this will appear as a slight black or grey circle. If found apply heat and let solder be gin to flow; the allow to cool and reassemble. If you look at my history you'll see I've helped others with this issue. Speedometer and tach

With the key in the off posistion press and hold the trip odometer reset button, the lights in the cluster will start to flash and the guages will do a self test. This should take care of your problem.
