Take your security key to the dealer with the car, and ask them to reprogram your key to your computer, if it wasn't a primary key.

Did this for a Ford Expedition (1999) that we got and had 2 new keys made for it.

I would also try to toggle the key on and off several tims to see if this helps to turn over the engine.

This I have to do on a 1997 Cadillac Deville, occasionally, on a starter that is starting to go bad.

Ford f 150 2007, will not start with original key, lights come on but ignition will not occur. Only one key to vehicle. Doesn't seem to read chip. How can I fix this?

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good? My info says your security system is starter motor disable. So if it cranks good but won't start, I don't think the problem is the security system. If on the other hand the starter motor won't crank, it could be the security system? Usually with testing we can get the starter motor to crank the engine although it may not start. At the least it will tell you the starter motor is ok and the engine isn't seized. I don't know what testing you have done?
If the problem is the key, talk to the service department at your local dealership. Maybe they can get you a new key? Any applicable trouble codes?

My 2009 dodge Journey won't start, the battery is good, relay is good, I am wondering how to check if the problem is with the anti theft or neutral switch or starter or what?

I don't know anything about remote start. What testing have you done?
Depending on the remote starter wiring, you might be able to unplug relay, then use proper jumper wire on load side of relay, terminals 30 and 87. Terminal 30 is hot all the time. If you try this make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set because your bypassing everything. Will the starter crank the engine? If so, you know the starter motor is ok and the engine isn't seized. Back in the day, sometimes I could start and run the vehicle by jumping the starter relay. I'd leave the the key in the on position, where the dash lites come on, then jump the relay. I don't know if that will work on vehicle? The vehicle must be in park or neutral and parking brake set. Safety is your responsibility. If it starts and runs, the security system is not the problem. The security lamp on the dash, is it on? Any applicable trouble codes for the security system?

My mustang is a 2007 & it won't crank but the radio comes on

You have to do testing to make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. Any applicable trouble codes?
What about your security system? If your saying the starter motor won't crank, the security system will disable the starter motor.
Of course if it cranks good but won't start, with engine cranking, check fuel--spark--compression, the basics.
Any testing at starter motor, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and ;parking brake is set. Safety is your responsibility.

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not get negative input to starter relay and does not start. How do I diagnose the problem.

Note the diagram? What about your security system? Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. If you unplug starter relay and use jumper sire between terminal 30 and 87, the starter should crank. If you try this make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. I don't know exactly what testing you have done? I'm just trying to see if starter motor will crank the engine? Even so, if it does crank that doesn't mean it will start and run.
The pcm grounds the starter relay, that is why I asked about security system.

My car won't start but battery is good what could it be.

If the engine cranks check the spark, injector pulse, fuel pressure. If it seems completely dead but dash lights and equipment work ok I suggest you check the immobiliser is disarming before you start getting too involved.

If it isn't cranking manually energise starter. If it starts there is a fault on the starter circuit. If it doesn't try the immobiliser first.

I turn the key and not a sound although the dash lights up, the starter is new. What could it be? In addition the cold air intake solenoid warning light has come on from time to time.

If the security light is on.(doesn't go off after a few seconds) then the security is set. Need to have it scanned for codes, Then after that check fuses, Crank/starter fuse. Then the relay. then start on the wires.

Bmw 328is 1996 .worked perfect , no problem starting at all until I had door handles replaced. Not car won't even attempt to start. battery, ignition, ignition switch, starter, spark plugs, spark plug...

Replacement Of Door Handles Will Not Cause Starter Relay To Directly Malfunction. It Will Cause Security System To Set And Not Allow Starter Relay To Work (not activate it)

My 2008 dodge ram 1500 will not start, but sometimes it does start, I 've had the starter checked, and my battery is good. So why won't my truck start?

Is there a red light on in the instrument cluster when the truck fails to start? If so, then the security system is setting a code that shuts down the starting system because it sees the truck being stolen. May want to check for security system trouble codes.

Took my 99 Sunfire to Pep Boys because the starter was busted. After changing the starter, for which they had to disconnect the battery. The car would not start. They said the battery was bad so they...

first , find an accredited shop that knows what they are talking about as you are being led by your wallet
the first check in any good shop is a load test on the battery, clean and tighten the battery terminals , the pull and bench test the starter , then repair / replace as necessary
removing the battery activates the immobilizer so it is necessary to reset using a scan tool
From your statement , none of those things were done so the shop has little knowledge of repairs
the system can be bypassed but I consider it not necessary if proper procedures are followed

CHECK BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN AND TIGHT CHECK THE STARTER FUSE AND RELAY.IF BOTH GOOD YOUR STARTER OR STARTER SOLENOID OPEN OR YOUR THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM NEEDS CHECKING WITH A SCANNER TO LOOK FOR FAULT CODE.IT WILL CAUSE NO START PROBLEMS.A FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND FAULTY TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH WILL CAUSE STARTER NOT TO WORK.TURN OFF RADIO FIRST IF YOU DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE TO KEEP FROM LOCKING OUT RADIO.IF ALTERNATOR BAD MOST TIME YOU WILL SEE A BATTERY OR CHARGE LIGHT ON DASH. BUT MOST OF THE TIME STARTER FUSE AND RELAY COULD BE THE PROBLEM.
