It could be overloaded or the brushes are wearing out or the bearing could be going bad.

Have very loud whinning noise on2000 saturn sc1.9 sohc can intake gasket cause this sound or a tensioner

Tensioner, alternator, power steering pump, water pump. All of these can cause this. Using either a mechanics stethoscope or a long screw drive (place you screwdriver near not on the pulley if each decice. Then place you ear to the handle..the screwdriver will transmit any sounds to your ear. Always be careful of clothing, jewelery hair etc so I'd doesn't get caught in the belts or pulleys) locate what is making the noise and replace.

How to fix whinning noise when car is accelerating, or turning? Is the whinning noise an electrical issue, fuel pump, power related, etc.?

the whining noise is your engines alternator bearings
they are worn out , the alternator is close to failure
it is barely producing any voltage
( the battery light in the dash only indicates that the alternator is no longer generating any amperage )

High pitched whinning sound at cold start, but lessens after driving and outside air temp increases.

I would check the idler pulleys on the belt first. Then maybe the alternator. If your battery is getting a little weak it could be working the alternator hard when you first start it up. I don't know how loud it is though. The alternator wouldn't be real noticeable but some people would hear it.

My car is making a whinning noise to the left of the motor. Sounds like it is in the Multi Rib Belt. The Chevrolet Dealer just had a recall on the power steering and had to replace that and a few days...

this is probably your AC compressor clutch or, alternator pulley bearing
to see: carefully! while the engine is running; place a very long screwdriver or, a long
metal bar on the case of the engine, alternator, AC etc. and, up to your ear (like a stethoscope) to locate and, pinpoint the noise. we have "mechanic's stethoscopes"
we use at at the shop these can be purchased at any auto parts store if you can't find
the bar you need. let me know what you find out.

Whinning Noise when cold.

Timing belts don't while because they don't slip! Could be the water pump/alternator belt.

Saturn vue, whinning at 45 -50mph,and in neutral,rubbing noise at15 to 20mph

if the car is neutral and not moving and is still making this noise it is probably in the engine, possibly in a pulley or engine component, waterpump, alternator, p/s pump check all these and see if they are making noise.

Whinning noise coming out through my subs

Try using a bigger ground wire (#2 or #4) and as short as possible to the frame. Make sure the power wire (#8) is also ran from the battery as for away from any other electrical wire or from the alternator. Good luck and hope this helps, keep mepost5ed if you have any more questions. Be glad to help you get your Yukon sounding 100%.
