Unless your comfortable pulling the transmission yourself take ti to the shop and have the seals replaced or the Torque converter. The only two places for fluid to come out between the engine and transmission is the Torque converter or forward seal on the transmission.

What kind of transmissiom fluid

It will say right on the dipstick. Mopar 7176 (ATF+3) most likely. ATF+4 will also work just fine.

Transmissiom fluid leak

The 2 most common places to investigate a transmission fluid leak are:
  1. Transmission lines
  2. Transmission gasket on the transmission pan
If possible, get under the car with a flashlight and inspect the transmission lines as they leave the transmission. Look for moist points usually around the fittings themselves. On the gasket, look for seepage which will occur most commonly around the bolts holding the pan up. They are a common trouble spot. If you see seepage you can sometimes stop it by tightening the bolt. Be careful not to overtighten any bolt for risk of breaking or stripping it.

1998 ford escort SE sometimes like it dosen't want to move, has enough fulid, the most of the time its ok. every tells me the transmissiom is on its way out. Please let me know your advise.

If it slipping in just certain gears i would say the bands are bad but usally it in older cars the torqu converters go out from moisture and stress. if the torque converter is going out it will act like you have to give it alought of throttle to get little to no movement but ones moving will drive just will seem to slip all the time till it goes out.

Transmission chatters when shifting into drive and also overdrive, what causes this

Check the fluid level. Also may be a clogged transmissiom filter, or the filter isn't seated correctly in the pan. I have had many of this type of problem come into the shop after having the fluid flushed on that type of Ford transmission. good luck.

How do i check transmissiom fluid 2006 jetta

Hi there,

Jetta's 2006 carry sealed gear box. There is no dip stick to check the transmission fluid. Per manufacturer, transmission fluid requires to change unless there is any issue with transmission. I hope this helps.

Inside the transmissiom pan their is a disc with hole in it like a donut , it is magnetic what is the purpose of this or is it a part that has fallen from inside the transmissiom

It is a safety device. If there are ANY grindings or shavings whatsoever in the transmission fluid, the magnet will trap them. It saves the transmission and lets you see if there is any damage.

Engine revs and i am only at 35 miles per hour. before this the engine was revving with loss of some power at pedal.

is this car automatic transmissiom or standard,if auto does the transmission fluid look brown and smell burnt, fluid should be red,if it is brown and smells burnt, likely a transmission failure,if car has a standard transmission it sounds like clutch could be slipping,if its a hydraulic actuated clutch, there could be a problem with hydraulics hanging up or the clutch itself is worn out
