I have a 2001 ford ranger xl 4cyl 2.5L and even when set to max air the air dosent get cool.

It sounds like you need to get your air con re-gassed. take it to a GOOD garage, they should do it for a little amount.

dont know if it will help but i had a ranger that the fuel line in the tank was partaly rusted closed and would die and start back after it cooled

When you put the a/c on in my 2008 ranger it blows hot! and if I put it on max a/c it blows cold why?


sounds if your ac is low on gas charge , this is why when you put it in recirc it gets cold

05 ford ranger 3.0......if I put my thermostat on cold...the vent blows hot air..on max ac..its cold air..makes no sense right....help


Cold air like, really cold or just cool. Sounds like your hot/cold blend door motor has perhaps failed with the blend door in the semi hot position. Blend door motor failure is very common on the Ford truck HVAC systems. Is is located behind the glovebox on top of the HVAC housing assembly.

Ford ranger 2001 2.3 Ihave to replace the thermostat, What is involved/


2001 Ford Truck Ranger 2WD 2.3L MFI DOHC 4cyl
  1. Drain the cooling system.
  2. Disconnect the radiator hose and the electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the radiator lower hose.
  4. Remove the bolts and the thermostat housing.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the housing bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
