Check the cooling fans to make sure they come on when the ac is turned on,if they are not, then the high pressure switch for the ac might be the problem.

One of two things has happened. Either your coolant has gotten really low (easy enough to check) or you heater core is starting to plug up.

Where is the fuse for the temperature sensor on a 2004 Chevy avalanche?

Hope you can read it? I don't believe it is a fuse problem. The sending unit sends signal to pcm. The pcm sends data to instrument cluster.

Why does my 2004 avalanche not heat up when i am

Check the coolant level. in the winter time It will not over heat very easily but vapor locks can occur and low coolant level will do what your describing ...When you drive the water pump is spinning faster causing coolant to intermittently flow through the heater core so it gets warm then cold at an idle.. also a thermostat that is stuck open will also cause this its also in the cooling system, if the cooling system is full I would replace the thermostat..good luck hope this helps

Heater issue, driver side of 2004 Chevy Avalanche

1. Place the ignition switch in the off position.
2. Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for 10 seconds or more. It's in the under hood fuse box. Put the temp in full cold.
3. Install the fuse.
4. Start the engine. DO NOT TOUCH THE HVAC CONTROLS FOR LESS THAN 45 SECONDS.
5. Have any codes cleared with a scan tool.

Miss on cold start up

Have you checked the oxygen sensor? If the engine is running lean, then it would behave the same as you described. Those sensors should be replaced every 80K or so.
