Where is the low pressure cycling switch?


Low pressure rarely goes bad, it is always on. It works the opposite of the high pressure switch. When the pressure gets to high on the low side, the switch will cut off the compressor. Low switch is usually by the compressor or mounted in the compressor. What's your A/C not doing.

Ac compressor cycling with no cool air blowing inside


Depending on how much freon is in the system, it could be a faulty low pressure switch or a faulty clutch.
You would jumper the low pressure switch to eliminate it for a test.

If we are talking about a pressure switch, it usually is the low pressure cut-off switch. Before messing with this switch, verify what your Freon pressure is.
If the pressure is low, the low pressure switch may be fine and you need to add Freon and find out why the Freon escaped.
If you have high pressure, there is a second switch which cuts power to the compressor. Too much Freon will activate this switch.
Tip: You have both a high and low pressure switch. The proper amount of Freon will center the pressure and keep the compressor running more consistently.
Either pressure switch unscrews from the fitting and with a minimum of pressure can be removed from the lines and replaced. The housing should have shapes for wrenches.

ADD Freon. It's a R134 system and the pressure is too low. Trust me add Freon and it will work fine. With a low amount of Freon if you jump the low pressure switch at the accumulator it will be very cold but will not have enough pressure to kick on the low pressure switch.

Hello, You need to check how much Low end pressure you have. The Low pressure cutoff switch will disconnect the compressor if the pressure is too low. The high end pressure switch will do the same thing for extreme pressure.

Sometimes the Low pressure switch will get weak and cut off the system too early. Just change this switch which will come out with only a slight puff of Freon being lost. You can jump the connector with a U shaped wire and bypass the Low pressure cutoff switch. If the compressor works better and does not cut out, it can still be low on Freon or have a bad Low pressure switch.

However, if the compressor cuts out a Second time with the Low pressure switch bypassed, the system is probably overcharged and the HIGH pressure switch is cutting off the compressor. You need to purge some Freon out of the system if High pressure is indicated.

Where it gets tricky is the Compressor will compress both Freon and Atmospheric air. Your efficency drops when the Freon is displaced by Atmospheric air. You will need to find the leak in the system which is allowing Freon to leak and outside air to enter the system. You will get a pressure reading with any gas in the lines.

There are Leak detectors and sealers for the system. I hope you just have a bad low pressure switch which is the easiest solution.

DTC 1784: LOW-REVERSE PRESSURE SWITCH
1.Remove transaxle relay from connector. Turn ignition on. Install scan tool and observe low-reverse pressure switch condition. Apply battery voltage to transaxle relay connector terminal No. 8. If low-reverse pressure switch stays off, go to next step. If low-reverse pressure switch turns on, go to step 4 .

2.Raise vehicle enough to allow drive wheels to spin freely. Test low-reverse clutch hydraulic pressure. See HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TESTS under TESTING. If low-reverse clutch pressure test is not within specification, internal transaxle failure exists. If low-reverse clutch pressure test is within specification, observe scan tool.

3.If low-reverse pressure switch turns on, trouble code is intermittent. Check wire harnesses and connectors for damage or poor connection. If low-reverse pressure switch does not turn on, replace solenoid and pressure switch assembly. Recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace TCM.

4.Check and repair wiring harness between transaxle relay connector and solenoid and pressure switch assembly connector. If wiring harness is okay, check wire between TCM connector terminal No. 10 and solenoid and pressure switch assembly.

5.If wire between TCM connector terminal No. 10 and solenoid and pressure switch assembly is okay, check TCM and solenoid and pressure switch assembly connectors. Repair connectors as necessary. If connectors are okay, recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace solenoid and pressure switch assembly. Recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace TCM.

P0700-The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transmission control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transmission controls.

I would try disconnecting he battery and letting it sit for 5 minutes, then hook it back up to see if they return-the 700 code is probably related to the 1784 code, that seems to be your main issue.

Where can i find the Low pressure switch on my 92 nissan pathfinder. and how can i check to see if its bad or switch it on?


The low pressure switch in an A/C system cannot be manually "switched" on or off.
most A/C systems have 2 switches. Both of these switches are "switched" by the pressure of the freon in the system.
One is located on the high side of the system, and the other is on the low side of the system. The one located on the high side is a normally closed switch that opens the A/C clutch circuit and shuts the compressor off when the high side pressure gets dangerously high - usually around 350 - 400 PSI. This keeps you from having an explosion in the event that the hoses become restricted for any number of possible reasons.
The low pressure switch opens the A/C clutch circuit and shuts the compressor off when there is not enough pressure on the low side of the system to safely operate the system. usually somewhere around 20 PSI. The compressor is oiled by oil circulating along with the freon in the system. If the freon leaks out, the pressure drops and the oil cannot circulate because there is not enough freon to push it through the system. So the low pressure switch shuts the compressor off to keep the compressor from blowing up due to oil starvation.
Failure of these switches is very rare. Almost every one that I have replaced was not because the switch didn't switch, but because it was leaking freon.
If your low pressure switch is keeping your A/C compressor from running, it is most likely that the system is either out of freon (due to a leak somewhere in the system) or because it is unplugged.
Your Nissan is equipped with a "Dual Pressure" switch. it does the job of both switches by opening under extremely high pressure as well as extremely low pressure conditions. it is located beween the front grill and the A/C condensor near the Accumulator just to the right (as you are facing the front of the car) of the right headlamp area. See picture.50e4218.gif To determine if this switch is functioning properly, you must hook-up an A/C pressure manifold gauge (to find out what the actual system pressure is) and use a volt/ohm meter to determine if the switch is opening and closing under the correct pressures.

IS NOT GOING TO CLOSE CIRCUIT TO TURN ON COMPRESSOR.UNTIL PRESSURE DROP AT A CERTAIN LOW PRESSURE.
