Follow these instructions and you should have no problems resetting the system.
For a second generation IS250: Hold down the the odometer reset button and press the start engine (without your foot on the brake to prevent from starting) to switch to the acc. mode, continue holding the reset button for about 5 sec until the visual countdown ended et voila, your system has been reset.

Just had an oil change done and the required maitenance warning will not come off the screen. is there a way that i can reset it on my own?

The procedure is as follows:
  1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
  2. Bring up the odometer reading using the trip meter reset knob then the turn ignition off.
  3. Hold down the trip meter reset knob while turning the ignition key to the run position (one position before starting engine).
  4. Hold down the button for 5 seconds or more. The odometer indicates "000000" and the light goes off.
  5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Got oil changed today on my 2008 rx350 lexus but the maintance light is still on. How do i get it to turn off?

Oil light needs to be reset. If you still have owners manual the reset procedure should be in the manual. If you had you lexus serviced at the dealership just take it back to them and ask them to reset it.

On a 2008 Lexus LS350 the oil light was not reset after an oil change. It does not have a key. I tried using the "hold tripodometer and pressing he start button with my foot off the brake" - no good!

Turn ignition on, press trip button till you see trip A. Turn ignition off, press the trip button and turn the ignition on while you hold the trip button, once the 5 dashes flash away it will reset.
