I hope you have a backup car........you probably caused about $2000 worth of damage......driving reversed electricity through your car is really bad.

Connecting up the battery backwards puts a negative 12v on all the car circuits. Better to check all the fuses first, then see what will work after that.
Hope this helps.

If you connected the jumper leads up wrongly you have most likely put 24 volts into the system instead of 12 volts & damaged all of the electric components including the computer, you will need to consult an auto electrician to sort out the problem.....hope this helps.....cheers

Chrysler 300M replace positive battery cable

II sounds like the battery lead is connected up incorrectly and it may not be allowing the battery to charge properly or maybe in reverse.
At some point your really need to cut your losses and take your car to an Auto Electrical professional who can visually diagnose the problem - quickly and cheaply.
You will get it fixed properly, and save a lot of heartache !!!!

The cart wont click over dont know anything bout cars so i need to find out if my starter or my alternator went out and sure my battery i need a new one because the car used to click over till we hooked up...

First if the jumper cables were hooked up backwards you could have killed your battery, which was probably dead to begin with. Get a new one then try and start. If it doesnt look more into the ignition switch than the starter. Alternator has nothing to do with starting, it could be bad and not charging the battery but will not cause your car not to start.

I bought a 1999 ford escort zx2 black 5 speed car and i got told the guy jumped it and under the dash on the drivers side started smoking bad and i cant find it... but the car will start and run but wont...

check all fuses, if one is blown replace and see if it blows instantly. If it does then those wires to that circuit are melted causing a short which could be draining the battery. but also check the battery with a cold draw test to make sure batt is good. could of been a ground wire under dash that smoked but you should be able to locate a melted casing on a wire. check battery first to be sure.

I replaced the battery in my car and it still wont turn over. I tried giving it a jump it started and as soon as pulled the cables off it shut off and wont start again what could be the problem

you fitted a flat battery on your car,,,,,thats why it sarted with a jump battery fitted to it,,,,hook up the jump battery again ,,start the car and leave the jump battery hooked up,,,so the car can charge up both batterys,,,till yours has power in it,,,,better still hook up a car battery charget to your car and leavi it on charge for a fuw days,,,

Wont start

Your compression requires you need heavy guage cables to avoid the cables overheating. They couldnt take the volt/amp draw being placed on them. I would get heavier cables and leave your vehicle key off and let the donar vehicle sit idling for a good while charging up your batteries. Better yet is if you have a trickle charger that you can hook up and let charge up your batteries... After you get them charged you will need to find that cause of the batteries going dead. Check to see if something was left on, or have your mechanic hook up your batteries to a multimeter and look for a draw...
