My 94 Nissan Altima ECU is giving code #21. This is for Ignition signal. Haynes manual says, "See dealer". It is also coding #11 - camshaft sensor.

Code 11 crankshaft position sensor or Camshaft position sensor. Code 21, Ignition Signal, Diagnostic Tree . Best to take to dealer for repairs and to remove codes, the codes do not mean the units are faulty ,just there is a fault, could be just a bad connection.

Gas around plugs causing car to flood and die out

there are a couple common causes for this problem. a defective temp sensor can cause the ECU to believe that the engine is still cold thus providing extra fuel much like the choke on carberated vehickles. Throttle position sensor could possibly be sending wrong signal to the ECU. O2 sensor can become blocked with carbon thus producing wrong fuel to air mixture but most times the defective 02 sensor will reveal itself much sooner.

19595 nissan altima tachometer

Hi Berny, I'll take a guess and say that you're not driving on the red line all the time and conclude it gets stuck up top. The Tacho gets its signal from the ECU which in turn uses the crank and camshaft sensors. unless it has the older distributor system of ignition. If it has the older type, check for short circuits to ground coming from the dist. If not check the ECU for the same and then the instrument panel. Lastly suspect the ECU. It will be a good idea to have a diagnostic scan carried out to find out if any defect has registered. Regards John

Replaced the speed control sensor and crankshaft sensor cleared the codes but when I turn the engine off the service engine light comes back on with the same codes showing??

Either the ECU is not getting the signal (s) that the repairs were done and to erase them. Or its receiving the signals and not doing anything about it. Check all grounds and B+ on the ECU ( make sure you wear your ground strap when you do this,). Good luck I had to replace a pin on an ECU one time.

all new cars are computer and sensor driven the most effective way to deal with ur problem is get a diagnostic reading on your vehicle to find out the malfunctioning component. otherwise its a trail and error thing and u may fix things that r not necessary the problem. it could be something difficult or complex, the money spent on finding out whats wrong will save u future time and money
