Do I have to bypass anything on a 98 eclipse to start it wit a screwdriver?

You can't start any vehicles with a screwdriver these days. All cars are fitted with immobilizers. I wrote this a while back.

Want to bypass your vehicle security system?
The short answer is you can't!

All modern cars have alarms and immobilizers. There is a chip in the key and a chip in the ignition lock. If both are present, the ECM (engine control module) releases power to the ignition circuit. When you turn the key, the starter spins the engine and you get a spark. If any one of those three items are not in the chain, you get the engine to turn, but no spark. There is no way to beat the system. You have to fix what is wrong, not find a way around it.

The immobilizer is in place to stop exactly what you are trying to do and has stopped car theft to virtually zero.

Anti theft system

(we can't do wiring hacks here, only stock, not stock?good luck)

NOCODEs ?you mean DTC'S? but... that not all there is...
use a real scan tool, not a near useless code reader.
do this last after fuses and the dash lamp checks for IMMO?
is the IMMO tripping?
A REAL $9 Scan tool:
you crank and see RPM at zero the CKP is dead.
you crank 5 seconds, see p0340 or 355 or the like..., after releasing key.;
??????
btw all cars EFI cut fuel for p0340 or any code related to spark.
including zero RPM

VAT? veh, alarm ? something?
Lost the free book?
did you read the operator guide for 2007, and read the page on
http://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/honda/honda-fit-owners-manual/
the optional immobilizer and the lamp signals stated there.
it tells you exactly what the , lamps do in (alarm or IMMO , which IMMO does CUT FUEL. it's all there. you lost the guide?
Key code errors? on dash? the key lamp does show theses facts.

BELOW page 77 quotes in your glove box manual.
The immobilizer system protects
your vehicle from theft. If an
improperly-coded key (or other
device) is used, the engine's fuel
system is disabled

When you turn the ignition switch to
the ON (II) position, the immobilizer
system indicator should come on for
a few seconds, then go off. If the
indicator starts to blink, it means the
system does not recognize the
coding of the key. Turn the ignition
switch to the LOCK (0) position,
remove the key, reinsert it, and turn
the ignition switch to the ON (II)
position again.
The system may not recognize your
key's coding if another immobilizer
key or other metal object {HACKS} (i.e. key
fob) is near the ignition switch when
you insert the key

If the system repeatedly does not
recognize the coding of your key,
contact your dealer.
Do not attempt to alter {HACK} this system
or add other devices to it. Electrical
problems could result that may make
your vehicle undrivable
end quotes

The sport model is different. page 66.

its not the security system because it goes in to alarm
if armed, if anyone (say hiding in car) was to tune the key switch to start car. (page130) RTM.
it also warns not to hack this system. (alarm)

Alarm fob stopped working on rover sterling how do i bypass the immobilizer to start the car

inside your key fop were the battery fits there is three soldered points
just check they are connected properly if not just re-solder the connection i had the same fault on my rover 400 and that sorted it. if you are not sure about the connections being soldered correctly fold a small amount of paper and put it on top of your battery holder and refit your fop and then try it that should work just as well.

Car alarm

You need to check if the alarm is factory fitted or aftermarket, i.e. fitted by car security company. You should have some paperwork. I presume you cannot start the car due to immobiliser. If it is aftermarket you can contact the insaller, or someone who does the same brand near you to get you going. Or you can search under the dash for the black immobiler wires and locate and join the appropriate wires. If the system is factory fitted, best to contact your local dealer. Good luck

I have a vw golf gti mk3 2ltr 8v i have had a cliiford g5 fitted however since having it fitted the car keeps cutting out after about 10 minutes. i have had a diagnostics test done and has come up saying...

Unless you have a lot of VW specific diagnostic equipment - don't even try to do that. VW's are VERY FUSSY with their alarm systems and immobilizer; you even run into problems if you change the factory radio for an aftermarket, unless you buy the by-pass solenoid set up for your car with the radio. You might try to contact "Ron" at obd2tech.com and find out, if he can help you.

1992 saab 9000 car won't start, try to jumpstart to go get new battery when we put cables on the alarm goes off take cables off alarm stops help!

Jumpstarting cars with electronic ignition is not a good idea. Your car is also fitted with an immobilizer, hence the alarm going off. Get someone to drive you to a place that sells suitable batteries, and fit the new one. You should be fine.
