It requires taking off the crankshaft pulley and replacing the circular seal.

Probably like $200 to $300 to replace.

First check all the linkage in the shifter lever parts, Something in the steering column may be blocking it, or a a linkage part bent under the car. Otherwise it is inside the transmision and would be a big job to fix it.

1999 Taurus automatic transmission problem

lways try the SEA FOAM T-R AN-S-M-I-SS-ION treatment before you let the big dollar mechanics have it. Get SEA FOAM at Auto-Zone or any parts dealer.Accept no substitutes. When you pour it in the t-r-a-n-s-m-i-s-i-o-n get in the car, start it and while holding the brake, shift it into all the gears and keep going from reverse to drive many times. If it's a sticky valve body or servo the sea-foam MIGHT make it start working. Let us know how it does? don-ohio (:^)

How much will it cost to get the knocking fixed

depends on what wrong if its big ends or small ends will cost around 300 pounds in uk dollers similar most of this will be labour as long as the piston and crank are ok and its just a new set of big end shells if crank needs to come off or piston to come out its and engine strip down over in uk probably cheaper to buy a second hand engine hope this helps ivan

Oil leak near crank sea & oil pump cover on 4cly toyota camry

You probably have a leaking front main seal. It's not bad to replace, not that big of a job at least it's not a rear main seal leak you have to remove the transmission to replace that. Good luck.

The dealer wants $1200 for 11 hours of labor to fix the oil leaking from timing cover f crank seal in my 6. does this sound right in any way?

Tha't not right. Dealerstealship charge you for anything. That job cost no more than 200 bucks labor plus gasket.

I just replaced the battery in my 2000 gmc seirra. The truck cranks right up and will run fine for a minute or two. Then my battery acks like it is going to die, but if I shift it into park everything goes...

Did you make she that the battery has the right cold cranking amps, or the alternator? some times on an alternator the selfegnighter might have gone bad. Also sounds like there might be a wiring or fuel injection problem. Is there a check engine light on? Start simple, put some sea foam in the gas tank (you can get sea foam at auto zone for 10.00) that might cure the rough idle.

1992 ford explorer. Hit a deer. Messed up front end. Need to replace gasket behind timing chain cover to fix water leak. Already replaced water pump. still have the leak. Can timing chain cover be replaced...

sounds like the engin took a real wack????
i hope you eat that deer!! its cost you dear to fix it?
you could do the gasket in place but its a right old job,,,when mine started leaking i just tiped in a big bottle of rad weld or block weld (stop leak) what ever you call it,,, it stoped the leak dead in its tracks for years (3 or 4 years) till i sold the truck??
as for bad running yes it could be the crank sensor or that water leak getting every thing wet??
