Question about 1999 Dodge Caravan

Open Question

No power getting to ac compressor and fuse and relay are in working order. What else could be the problem. Should there be power to the wires just before the compressor if the ac is turned on and turned on high? Someone told me that my compressor was locked up and another person said that the compressor is not locked up and used a test light and had me turn the ac on high and there was no power getting to those wires just before the compressor.i was told something about the high and low pressure switch and I cant seem to find any information about these online anywhere. Why is there no power to my compressor....before the compressor was changed the old compressor was working until it burnt up and started smoking from under the engine and my mechanic disconnected the power cord to the compressor well now there seems to be no power to the cord that plugs into the wires on the compressor. Can someone help. I dont have a lot of money and want the air fixed. We have already changed the expansion valve and dryer

SOURCE: Dodge Ram AC not blowing cold

By pass both pressure switches one at a time with small wire or a paper clip. If comperssor kicks on replace the swich that you bypassed.
if not it could be the fan clutch ot the compressor. Compressor runs about $400.00

SOURCE: I have a 91 dodge colt that the ac clutch is not engaging.

if the freon pressure is too high or too low there are two seperate pressure sensors that will disable the a/c clutch to prevent dammage to the compressor. You need to check (or have it checked, dangerous if you do not know how) the pressure on the high and low ports while you have you jumper wire in place and the a/c is running. PLEASE RATE MY solution as I am new on here, Thanks

Apparently the local shop did not trace the clutch wiring back to the power source to find out why no voltage was getting through.

04 navigator is blowing ac fuse 11, ac coil shorted, 3 different coils, can ac compress short the coils

How did you hook up the inline fuse to compressor and ground to compress ? Ground what ? Right at the clutch coil ? You have to be hooking it up wrong . The compressor can't cause the clutch coil to short or blow the fuse , even if the compressor were seized up . An before that would have the serpentine belt would burn up , squealing noise. applying B+ voltage in the relay socket ,pin 30 to pin 87 will engage the compressor clutch . If the fuse blows the wiring from the relay to the compressor clutch is shorted to ground . Look for rubbed through wiring harness .

No power to ac compressor from relay in fuse box

The compressor is not powered or the fuse for the clutch unless the system has a minimum pressure, so if you are low on AC refrigerant or the low pressure switch is defective then the compressor will not engage, 99% of the time one of these is the problem.

1994 olds cutless ciera ac compressor won't come on 134 ok in order for the compressor to come on the a/c comp control relay has to have 12v on pink lead this is tied into fan relay, all not worki

According to several Oldsmobile discussion groups online, the inline fuse is behind the glove box taped to another inline fuse. The wire is actually pink and black.

My husbands 93 park ave ac compressor is not running, when he relplaced the ac relay it worked one time and then no longer works. There doesn't seem to be any power getting to the compressor, could there...

If it has the auto air functions. On the passenger side under glovebox remove the black cover under the dash and there is a hidden fuse block with a ac fuse. Check for this a very common issue. Also if the ac is fully charged you can unplug the low pressure switch located on the accumulator( silver canister located by the relays towards the firewall) and take a wire and place between the two terminals just make sure the compressor will does come on.If the ac is turned on and you jump that switch and the compressor does turn and ac starts working then a good possibilty that the low pressure may be bad. Would check the fuse first.

When your R-134a runs too low it will NOT engage the compressor. You need to refill your a/c system before the clutch will engage, I also suggest finding the leak.

Can some post the 1999 gmc sierra wiring diagram

you don't have enough pressure in your system. odds are you have a leak someplace and the factory installed a saftey switch to keep the ac from running when there is no pressure. This way you don't end up burning up your compressor.

No power for AC compressor

try removing the plug off the low pressure switch on the accumalator plug a paper clip into the plug and turn ac on if it comes on then your low pressure switch is bad or your low on refigerant.
