Where is the transmission dip stick located

not all cars have tranny dipsticks, you would have to check your manual, or call the dealer. trannys with no dipsticks are called sealed transmissions, and unfortunately they are still doing that in new cars...stupid idea!

How do you check transmition fluid in a 1996 Standard Mercury Tracer?

Check transmition fluid is via the trans dip stick located were the engine meets the tranny.. Dip stick should be labled transmition with the engine hot and car in park. pull dip stick out wipe clean. reinsert into tube fully then remove. the highest oil level is the reading level is reference to the stamped marking on the dip stick indicating fluid level "high or low"

Cant find the dip stick for the transmission fluid

It's a small red cap, that may be located on top of the tranny underneath the exhaust pipe, or close to where the tranny, meets the engine..you may need a flash light, so you can see the level, because there is no min-max mark..you will see the fluid...and the cap maybe dirty so it may not look red...goodluck

I have a 99 caviler need to know how do i check the trans fluid level it has a automatic overdrive

There are going to be two dip sticks one might say trans on it that's what your looking for. Drive around the block to get the tranny warm then pull out that dip stick and the fluid should be red and the end will tell you if you need more fluid or not

How do you check auto trans fulid with no dip stick

if it has no dipstick on the car anywhere it is what they call a world standard type tranny and will have to be done at a tranny shop or at dealer because the car has to be lifted in the air while running to check and ad fluid.

97 acura 3.0cl

It's usually the dip stick that is yellow. Be sure to bring the car up to operating temperature before checking/adding fluid. Almost sounds like a bad IAC valve or a vacuum leak.

Wheres the tranny dip stick

If it is an automatic, the end of the dipstick should have a yellow plastic handle which should be located to the right rear of the engine compartment (facing car). If it is a straight drive, there is no dipstick. You will have to find the fill plug and take it out. The gear oil should come up to the fill hole.
