Gas leak on top part of the engine chevy trail blazer 4.2 it looks like a lilttle fuel filter and it has a small vaccum hose that comes off of it cant find anything about what the part is called

If it is on the fuel rail, it sounds like the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose off it and check for evidence of gas there. There should be no gas in the vacuum line, but if there is, it is a failed regulator. If the gas is coming from where the regulator sits, the o-ring is probably bad. Pull the device off and check the o-ring, and replace it with a new one.

Strong gas smell inside of car

is there a leak in your fuel line, or possibly your fuel filter, if you see raw gas leaking, then it is dangerous for you tio continue to drive it, it only takes one spark to ignite it, however, if the smell is just your car burning rich and the exhaust has holes in it, it will smell up the inside of your car. And yes if your carb. is burning too rich then it needs adjusted. Wasting your fuel, and overloading your engine. I hope some of this was helpfull.

My 99 cadi has a gas smell comming into the cabin

You might check for leaks starting from the tank to the injectors. If you do have a leak then your more likely to find it while its running. Injectors need pressure to run. With pressure, gas will come from the leak if u have one. If you dont have a leak then your car could be burning a little rich causing a gas smell. An o2 sensor could also be the problem.

Engine light on 2003 dodge 5.7 hemi read small vaccum leak new gas cap new purge sensor

Since they went with the plastic tubing and quick disconnects. I would use a flash light and check the orings inside the quick disconnect tubing. They can dislodge or be torn from the factory, a little nick is a small leak. Fixed a few like this.

The fuel line tube is leaking gas. how do i fix that?

Hello,

exhaust the gas and make sure there is no more gas in the vehicle. Check the leaking line tube, and get the exact point that is leaking. But make sure you get the leaking point before draining or exhausting the gas.

If the fuel line tube is rubber, get an Abro Gum or go to any car part dealer store, you will get a gum that can seal up the leaking area or part.

But if it is a metal, you will have to take it to a welder or panel beater so that they can help weld or seal up the leaking line tube.

Good luck.

I HAVE A CODE PO440" EVAP EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM LEAK" ( Small ). Is this a serious problem and what do I need to do to fix the problem?

not a serious problem at all, in fact if u have no emmisions testing u dont have to do **** with it. evap means evaporative emmisions system which is a system that stores fuel vapors that build pressure in ur tank so they dont leak out into the atmosphere, then when the time comes the cars computer purges the vapors into the motor to burn it properly.even if u take ur car to a shop chances are they wont be able to find a small leak. chances are it could be gas cap related. heres what i would do. take the gas cap off and look down inside the filler tube right there in the opening. if its palstic in there then look for any cracks. make sure theres no rust on the cap sealing surface and for the cost get a new gas cap from the parts store. put a little vasoline on the rubber seal of the new cap and put it on. remember it could take a week or more for the light to go out even if the problem is fixed.

Smell gas in car

Look for fuel leaks in the engine bay or back by the tank where you fill up the the tank. A little bit of gas will go a long way so if you had spilled a little while removing the nozel at the gas station the filler neck will disperse of it, sometimes it gathers on the inside of the fender, and causing for a smell that may not be an issue. On the other hand if you notice the smell under the hood you may have a leaking fuel line, check to see if anyone has replaced the fuel filter recently sometimes the technician does not tighten the lines securely causing a little fuel leak. other times its just a little fuel spray from not releasing the pressure before removing the filter may have sprayed the fuel on the car onto maybe the insulation. One thing to do is look under the car while it is running myabe after filling it up to check for leaks. If your notice a drip while the A/C is running dont be alarmed as this is the condensation dripping off as it is supposed to.

Evap leak in fuel

Remove the gas cap and re-install it making sure that you hear it click several times. What your evap leak could be is the gas cap allowing gas fumes to escape. All it takes is a .040 leak to turn on the engine light. If it persists you'll have to have the emission system smoke tested. What happens is the system is literally filled with smoke and the leak will be found by where the smoke comes from.
