If you have service/warranty book in your vehicle it tells you what needs to be done at each service, the book I am referring to is the one that the place where you get your car serviced stamp it & remove the page, it has the service intervals in mnths. & miles, failing that ask the service people what needs to be done at the milage of the service you require.....hope this helps.....cheers

Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

Chances are good that you have a blown head gasket. This is a very typical problem with Subaru's with over about 120,000 miles. There is a slight possibility that your radiator is plugged.

2000 Subaru Outback Wagon (100K miles) with P0420 Code

I do not know for sure if this is the problem you are having, But, I have noticed that from 95 up to 2002 I have seen a lot of PO420 codes that have been just the sensor. I do not know if it was a weak sensor or just that program telling it that it is below threshold. I did notice that if the vehicles are run for a long trip at highway speed it goes out. I wish you luck and have a great day.

Want to know what maintenance is needed for 2001 Subaru Outback for 120,000 miles.

timing belt needs to be replaced at 100,000 miles, auto transmission fluid and filter replaced, that is really the only things, of course u check all fluid levels, the big maint is the 100,000 mile service

Does the 2000 subaru outback have a timing belt that needs to be changed and at what miliage intervals

It should if it is a 4 cylinder. And any good mechanic would suggest to replace the belt between 70,000 to 90,000 miles.

I am looking at buying a 200 Subaru Outback

Thats not many miles for a Subaru. The only thing that really ever seems to cause problems with Subaru motors is the Head gaskets. But, with proper maintanance they last a long time. If caught at first sign of trouble repair is not alot of money. I have 3 Subaru's with over 200000 on them and I will take them against anything. Maintance is the key to repair problems. Subaru parts are not expensive and easily available. It will probobly be another story of buying a Subaru and never buying another car other than that. Good luck and have a great day.
