My air conditioning is leaking into the passenger compartment. I cleaned the overflow tube through the firewall, it drips when the ac is running. Some water still leaks at the bottom of the seal inside the passenger compartment below the carpet.

The passenger floor carpet of my 2000 passport is wet but I don't know where the leak could be. nothing else in the cabin is wet, particularly the areas directly above the floor carpet

You did not indicate what sort of climate you live in or exactly where the carpet in the cabin was most wet...

However, the most common source of water inside a car is a clogged HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) drain tube. This tube provides drainage for water condensing on the AC evaporator and any water that enters the HVAC system during rain storms. If the tube is clogged with dirt and debris the water drips from underneath the dash where the heat vents are ... onto the floor instead of dripping onto the road. So usually the wettest place on the carpet is the front passenger foot well.

The drain tube is generally located on the firewall, low on the passenger side. You would probably have to raise the car to see/reach it. I am not sure exactly where the Passport one is ... they can be hard to find at times.

Other possible sources of water are a clogged sunroof drain tube, leaking window seals, torn or missing door seals, and clogged door drain holes.

Also ... buildup of debris (pine needles/leaves) where the windshield wipers retract in to can also block those drains which can sometimes cause overflow into the passenger compartment.

After you find and eliminate the source of the water you will have to lift the carpet and remove the padding underneath in order to dry it. The padding holds water like a sponge and will not dry unless it is removed from the vehicle. Shop vacs won't get the water out of the padding. Even if the carpet feels dry the padding underneath may still be wet, and that is where mold and mildew grows.

Where is evaporator hose on 2001 dodge dakota?clean water on floor .

Condensed water from the AC drains out through the fire wall. Check that small tube/hose for plugs. Some models just have a hard plastic tube sticking out and when the seal on the firewall goes bad, the water drains back into the passenger compartment. Add a piece of hose to that plastic tube so it drips down away from the firewall.

Water leaking into passenger side of floor

This is when the air conditioning is running? The ac evaporator csae drain tube may be plugged The tube is located on the passenger side firewall.Generally I will use a small pick to dislodge debris from the tube being extremely careful not to go into far as the evaprator core may become damaged and develop a leak.

I have water on my passenger side floor board is this a ac leak and how can i fix this myself.2001 dodge 2500 diesel

There is a drain for the a/c evaporator core is down low on the engine side of the fire wall on the passenger side. Usually it's a very short open ended rubber tube that's a couple of inches long. It gets plugged up with dust and crud. Once the drain is plugged the condensation that occurs on the evaporator coil builds up and overflows out of the HVAC housing and drips on the floor. I just use a gentle puff of shop air to blow the tube clean. If there's a lot of crud in the housing it may plug up again after a while but usually the tube will get washed clean when the a/c runs again. Hardest part is often just finding where the drain is hidden. If you're having trouble finding it and have a friend or neighbor with a similar pickup it's sometimes easiest to watch where the water is dripping out of his and backtrack it up to the drain. Good luck, hope this helps!

Air condition leaks into driver side and rear floor board

The evaporator box drain is stopped up.Under hood, under the firewall, right below the ac lines, you will find the drain.Take a small wire, like balin wire and move it in and out of the drain hole to relieve the water,it will pour out pretty good.If this doesn`t work, try compressed air pressure.I hope this helps.

Air conditioner leaks water into the passenger side

the moisture dripping into your passenger compartment is condensation that is supposed to be dripping out of the a/c box via a tube that runs along the firewall to the bottom of the car(thats where the water on the ground comes from on most rigs that have been running a/c for a while). it sounds like the drain hose, or the base of the a/c box where the hose attatches has gotten clogged. if you can get to where the hose attatches to the box, remove it and blow air through the hose. before reatatching the hose, be sure there is noting blocking the niple on the bottom of the box. you should be able to get a pick or small screwdriver through the hole to clear the debris. if that fails to work you will most likely have to remove the a/c box (very difficult and lengthy process) to clean the drip tray in the bottom of the box. if it comes to that i would recomend modifying the box somehow to create a larver drain hole, and allow for a larger drain hose. if its clogged that bad after just 4 years, you will probably experience this problem again without enlarging the drain hole. hope this helps

2005 Chrysler Pacifica-Air conditioning leak

The 05/04 Pacifica did not come with an elbow tube on the drain line for the AC drip pan. As you drive, the air flow into the tube pushes the condensate water back into the pan which is inside above the passenger floor board, the drain line is under the hood on the firewall. I spoke with the parts guy at the local Chrysler dealer, he sold me a drain tube for the 06 (~$10) and I installed it, wasn't too hard to do from the top if the engine is cold. The elbow slips on over the drain tube. Make sure to point the tube down. It only took one trip to start seeing water drip out of the tube and the floorboard started to dry up and almost three years later, the floorboard is still dry.
