Not sure of your problme.. If you meant Relay or Reset..
There is no "reset" .. but there is a fuel pump relay.. and if it's bad.. the fuel pump either will run all the time or not at all.. chances are not at all.
The fuel pump is located in the gas tank.. as is the same with most modern cars. It's a good idea to keep the tank more than a 1/4 full to keep the fuel pump cool.. prevent premature wear.
Depending on milage or conditions.. change the fuel filter.. check the relay.. replaceing the fuel pump is expensive.. mostly for labor of removing the fuel tank from the car in most cases.. the pumps run 100 - 175 dollars.. and if you need one.. they should replace the filter at that time.
The fuel pump relay has to be checked.Usually, when this relay fails it gets stuck in the on position, allowing the fuel pump to continue running even though the car is turned off.Fuel pump relay is under dash above E-brake. Fuel pump relay has 2 White with black stripe wires thar are 12 volt with ignition on.
It could very well be that your fuel pump went bad. I am more inclined to say that the in tank fuel pump would go before before the relay . But you should find the fuel pmp relay under the hood near the main fuse box, if not in it.
how did you jump the fuel pump relay, by bypassing the relay or by applying power to contact that closes the relay? If you bypassed the relay completely you need to b ench test the relay you can do this easily by using any 12v dc power source. If you tested the fuel pump relay by applying power to the relay and the pump run and developed pressure. I suspect a wiring or ground issue. Good luck
I was just looking for another fuse and came across this diagram and it shows every fuse and relay and where it goes. The Fuel Pump Relay is in the O slot in the fuse box under the hood which is located near the battery. it is a 20 amp mini fuse. Hope this helps, i saved the link for future use if i need it, might be a good idea for you too. Good Luck here is the link..... http://www.miracerros.com/mustang/2000_fuse.html
This impact probably damaged the pump as well. I would try to listen if the fuel pump cycles on when you turn the key to the "ON" or "Run" position if it does not than I would have it replaced.
