You have a blown head gasket allowing the radiator coolene to get into the cylinders and, exit with the exhaust. replace the gasket (you can find which side of the engine by removing spark plugs until you find a wet one.

You need to let your car cool down over night if possible. If you can't wait over night turn the car off, open the engine hood, and leave it open for a while so it quickly cools down. Check the radiator fluid level. To do this there should be a plastic tank near one side of the radiator which is located on the very front of the engine under the hood. The plastic tank is clear and should have yellow/green fluid in it. If the tank is low or empty let the car cool down like stated above but even longer. After about 1/2 to 1 hour with the hood open it is safe to open the cap located on top of the plastic tank. Add pre-mixed coolant fluid through the cap until the fluid reaches the "FULL" mark on the plastic tank, replace cap, start engine and let it idle or run for about 15 minutes with the hood open. Check the fluid in the plastic tank again and add fluid if needed. Repeat until fluid remains at full level. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE COOLANT FLUID AND CAN NOT BUY SOME YOU CAN USE JUST PLAIN TAP WATER BUT YOU BETTER HAVE YOUR RADIATOR FLUID CHECKED BEFORE WINTER. Good luck!!

Check your coolant fans and see if they turn on the only you can find out is by letting the car warm up and opening the hood to see if it's working and if so then it leaves one other problem wrong coolant type or the radiator is plugged up and maybe even one of the hoses are bad or plugged

The only thing I have is an idle,Bogs down like plugged exhaust

It is probable a clogged catalytic converter if it has one. Sounds like it is pluged or a valve is not opening when throteled.

You have probably solved the problem by now, but the first thing to do is re-check the coolant level once the engine cooled off. You may have cracked the radiator or the hose. Then the question becomes "what caused it to run hot".

It appears the cap screws off? It doesn't look like a regular radiator cap. I looked at acdelco parts book.
If the cap is stubborn, cold engine, sometimes I use a pair of pliers with wide jaws, grip the cap and screw it off. I haven't seen your type cap, before. If this was my vehicle, I would certainly want to look in the radiator. I'd get that cap off, one way or the other. Of course, nobody wants to damage anything.

Are you just refilling the coolant resevoir, or also adding antifreeze/water mix to the radiator itself?
When the engine is cool, remove the radiator cap and add antifreeze/water mix until the radiator is full. Leave the radiator cap off and leave the hood up and start the engine and let it idle. As the engine warms up the thermostat should open up around 180 degrees and allow the water to circulate in the radiator. If you see no movement of the water and the heat continues to rise to an unsafe temperature, your thermostat is stuck and needs replacement

Steam coming from engine

hi,
how far away is the repairman? if its less than 2 miles then go ahead. fill up the coolant reservoir AND the radiator locate the radiator cap and fill it too. I dont recommend doing it if you cant fill up the radiator. go early in the morning before it gets hot. if it starts to boil shut it off at the lights. take extra water with you and a rag or gloves and of course the phone. good luck

check for melted spark plug wires or wires grounding out. this can be done best at night just open up the hood after dark and if you see any sparks move the wires around till they stop. also maybe check the fuel filter
