Yes, it's too soon, but shyte happens especially if you have used crappy regular gasoline.. Take your car to another mechanic, maybe you're lucky and this mechanic put the wrong diagnostic.

That means the actuator is stripped inside and will have to be replaced. While replacing, make sure latch mechanism is free and not jamming.

Have a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr with 75000 miles, took it in to my Lincoln dealer for required svc, was called upon completion and told my 12 mo old (85 month rated) battery died, needs to be replaced. Car...

If that car was mine,I'd take it to Ford and pay their diagnostic fee.
Before you do that, unhook the battery cable for a half hour and then reconnect and let it idle for a few minutes. If it acts okay, drive it TOWARD the Ford dealer and check it out.
Your car is at the age that it needs Coil-over-plugs and spark plugs, along with a fuel filter. The coils-over plugs can cause BAD things to happen to the PCM(by electrical interference) which controls a LOT of functions. don-ohio (:^)

My driver's side headlight is out on my 06 lincoln zephyr I bought a new HID light and had it installed but it still wont work. I think it may just be the fuse. But how do I get to the fuse box to...

if one side works, its not going to be a fuse, whoever installed it needs to recheck it if that is possible,, On those bulbs its very important not to touch the actual bulb, as the oil in the body will cause them to over heat and burn out faster . If you can't have the installer check the bulb again,, remove the retaining ring that holds them in place,, remove the bulb , and check it with a meter , check any wiring that leads to the socket to be sure its plugged in completely

Have 2006 lincoln zephyr and i have some transmission slippage problems. on occasion when i put the car into drive it will not grab for a few seconds and then when it does it bangs into gear and sometimes...

I own a 2006 Zephyr with similar issues. My dealer reset the transmission which briefly helped but the problem quickly came back. My son is a certified Master Mechanic with Ford but in business for himself. He tested the car and told me the valve body was bad, printed out the TSB's (technical service bulletins) issued by Ford for the 2006 Zephyr, 2007-08 MKZ's and other models equpped with an Aisin transmission. My car was a certified Preowned vehicle and I have the ESP Premium coverage for it. I took the car back to the dealer, who is replacing the valve body, it's being covered by the warranty and the $100.00 deductible is being waived because the valve body should have been replaced the 1st time. The TSB states that if there are no "codes" showing, the car has over 20,000 miles, the valve body should be replaced. It's an expensive repair but Ford is aware of the problem. Contact your dealer, let them know you are aware of the TSB's issued for the car, especially if you have the ESP protection. If not for my son I wouldn't have known. If you need any further info, contact me, I'll be glad to help you. My car has 62,000 miles, I love it and I'm sure glad I found the problem before I hit the 75,000 limit for the warranty.
