Question about 2003 Kia Rio
Hi I have an intermittant problem with my Kia Rio, it will run perfectly for several days then starts running really lumpy and cutting out. I've had a full service and new spark plugs fitted, nothing is showing on the diagnostic check, please can you help me. Perhaps I should mention that I live in the sun, so not sure if the heat affects it in anyway?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions (polite ones please!!!)
Sound like one of 2 possible problems bad gas, try filling up at a different brand shell vs citco etc.clean o ring and fiiler neck after you tank up ,insure cap is on tight
with the car at an idle gently tap the mass air flow sensor with the plastic end of scew driver. if the idle changes , sputters ,etc you can try removing and cleaning with cleaner for mass air flows , if you cant find that you can try sea foam in the spray can . make sure dry re-install ,with a good o-ring at this point only you can judge wether it needed cleaned and solved the problem or needs replaced. if you tap it again and it still sputs or idle drops i would replace it , its going bad but not bad enough to register and send a code to turn on check engine
