Question about 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix
The charging port is located on the firewall behind the engine. It is slightly off-center toward the left side of the car, so access is easier from the driver's side. With the hood raised, find where the passenger-side windshield wiper arm attaches to the car, then look directly below it on the firewall. You'll see a silver/aluminum tube coming up the wall and looping back down (this is the low-pressure side of the A/C system). At the top of the loop is a black cap that screws off/on covering the charging port. Turn COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to remove. It may be difficult to remove especially given it's location. Do not be tempted to use pliers (but if you do be very careful not to damage the port). Also, be very clean and do not allow any dirt on the port, the smallest dirt in the system is trouble.
Best of luck to you.
