While under the car on your back position yourself under the oil pan. The oil filter is located about a foot up and 6" to the right. It's above and behind the passenger side axle. It's parallel to the ground.

The oil filter it says my car takes wont fit only the one i had on it fits is there any way to match up the one i have with a new one exactly like it its a 2000 saturn sl1

For a 2000 Saturn sl1 4cyl 2.2 L MFI-DOHC

I looked up the part number and it shows 9018 for different types of brands. Each brand will have its own prefix like TG9018 or CH9018.

If you can take the old filter into a place like napa, autozone, or wherever and see if they can look it up as well and make sure it matches the old filter.

Where is the transmission filter located in a 2002 Saturn SL1 car?

It is actually on the outside of the transmission on top parallel to the ground. It is toward the front of the car and is a large oil filter looking spin on filter.

There is no pan on an S-series car, simply a dipstick, external filter, and drain plug. Pretty much like changing the oil on your engine, actually easier!
