The cabin filter is located behind the glove compartment. as bad it is going to taste, you will have to cut the plastic piece that is going across the front of the filter area. Behind this plastic is a metal bar that is going to be removed on both sides. I removed it only on one side and pushed it out of the way. once this is done you should have access to the filter. honda recommends taking it to the dealer at a cost of about $120. the dealer will do the same thing as far as cutting the plastic cover. there is no other way around this. don't worry it won't hurt anything, but it won't set right with your feelings at first. Be sure to keep track of all the parts from the glove compartment that you removed. it is not hard to change. At first it may take you about 30 minutes to do the cutting and replacement. the next time it will take you about 10 minutes.

it is not as bad as it sounds, as soon as you get over the fact that you have to cut some plastic that is molded and is in your way.

the plastic is running from side to side and is clearly visible when you take the glove compartment off. just cut it close to the ends to make it easier on you. the metal bar will have some small screws on the backside. i recall something like 10mm or so. filter comes straight out and goes right back in.

good luck.

i had my honda mechanic tell me how to do this and it worked very easy.

The air is cool but not forceful. I had the condenser replaced because it was not cool. Now it sometimes is and sometime it is just a whisper. Took the car back, put in another conderser, but problem...

Does your car have an in cabin air filter? If so it may be clogged. Check your owners manual for the cabin filter's location. Follow the instructions for removal. Blow clean with compressed air or replace. return to installed position with the correct side facing up.

Can't find the ''cabin air filter'' on my 1996 Honda Odyssey

A 1996 Honda Odyssey is not equipped with a cabin air filter. If I was looking for a restriction in the cabin air, the first place I would look is on the inlet side of the A/C condensor. ALL cabin air travels through the A/C condensor ALL of the time. (The heater core only sees air when the temp door is not directing the air around it and always after it has been through the condensor first.) I have seen gunk as hard as concrete clogging the condensor just from layers of dirt that collects on the wet coils then dries.

Cabin Filter clogged ?

Usually the cabin filter is located under the air draw that is directly below your windshield wipers. The air draw is the vents next to the windshield. Access is normally a few screws or bolts. Then replace the filter.

Where is the cabin air filter of 2005 Odyssey located and how can the cabin filter be changed.

I have a factory manual for 1999-2004 but I believe the filter is in the same location on a 2005. First, you have to remove the glove box. It's a straight forward process with a phillips head screwdriver and a 10mm socket. The filter is in the middle of the black plastic air handler behind the glove box. It is in a vertical slot covered by a narrow "door" with clips on top and bottom. If it has never been changed before, you will have to cut out the horizontal plastic cross brace that kept the dash assembly from warping during manufacture. Cut with a hack saw at each end of the plastic brace and remove it. You'll notice a metal cross brace that can be removed with screws at each end. Once the braces are removed, it is easy to unclip the filter door and replace the filter. Then just put everything back except the plastic cross brace you removed; it can be thrown out.

2002 honda crv air filter change

Can you specify if you are referring to the engine intake air filter or the cabin air filter?
If you are referencing the cabin air filter, the attached youtube video should help.

I originally created the video for the Odyssey, but found out after looking at my dad's CRV that it is essentially the same procedure as the Odyssey, and have also noticed that the same stands true for most Honda vehicles built between 2005 and 2009.

Happy motoring!
