it is a 1986 ford ltd small sedan 6 cil. with no atc. there is a i guss you would call it a vacuum distributor on the drivers side firewall, it has engine vacuum and a bunch of outputs, the lower right port was open so i put a plug on it, i dont know what went there. also theres a hose that goes from the top right port to the left side of the firewall to a splitter. one hose goes inside the car witch i think is my ac and the other hose is broken and i dont know where it went, so i put a plug on it. if anybody can help identify these ports i would be extreamly grateful emissionwiz, my very helpful button dident work, so i hope you read this. thank you everybody!

This is either a loss of vacuum from the engine to the AC control switch or a defective switch, nothing else causes the condition, find the vacuum storage canister under the hood and see if it has engine vacuum present

Does the Erg vacuum solenoid cause the ac switching from vents to defrost

the ERG shouldn't have anything to do with what vents the AC comes out of, rather the dash switch that exists for changing from defrost to main vents to floor vents controls what vents are used.

The air blows but it don't heat like it suppose to nor do it allows the defroster to work. it a 2000 gmc jimmy 4-wheel drive someone says it may be the heating core

Sounds like a vacuum activated switch. Your engine vacuum is used to open and close little doors in your vents. If a hose is loose or disconnected or the electronic controls that tell the switch to let vacuum thru is not working, no air will reach your defroster vent at the windshield. Does the switch that controls Vent, Heat (sends to the floor), AC and MAX AC do anything at all? If they do, you may have a specific switch problem. If you switch from Vent to MAX AC the sound of the air flow should be much louder. If the switch isnt changing where the air blows, it is leading you to the problem. Either the switch is bad or the supply of vacuum to the switch is not there whether it is a loose vacuum hose or a disconnected one. Happens often when aftermarket stereos are installed and the installer disconnects something either by accident or forgets to reconnect it.

91 ciera only does defrost, no vents or AC

i believe this is a vacuum operated system. if there is a problem with the vacuum supply to the control unit, it will automatically default to defrost. i would start by checking the vacuum source lines. good luck!

AC stopped blowing through the defrost vents

hi..
Try grounding the LOW PRESSURE A/C SWITCH by the compressor, while trying to recharge. This will energize the compressor. Hope this helps...

MY 1991 CHEVY CAMARO AC ONLY WORKS ON DEFROST HOW DO I FIX IT

Start at the firewall and check for vacuum leaks. The blower door is vacuum activated and a leak would prevent it from switching from defrost to vents or floor. Best of luck.

U need to check the vacuum source to the heater/ac control vacuum switch, the source of the vacuum is a vacuum reservoir supplied by the engine
