Question about 1992 Ford Taurus
My 1992 ford taurus died while i was driving it. Now when i turn the key to where the battery is on right before i start it, it doesnt make the sound it use to. It use to make a sound for a second like something was going through the car. What could the problem be?
The sound you are describing is the fuel pump. When you first turn the key to the on position, the fuel pump pressurizes the system. This could be fix by replacing the fuel pump or even something more simple like a fuse to they fuel pump relay or the inertia switch that some vehicles are equipped with has tripped, which in this case, it's usually located in the trunk, behind the carpet, on the sides of the vehicle. It will have a small button that can be pushed back in. Hope this helps direct you in the right direction and good luck!
