The last code (0498) indicates a small leak in the fuel vapour evaporative control system. Check all pipes for good connection and absence of cracks (leaks) to and from the charcoal canister. If the leak is significant you might just be able to hear the sucking noise when the engine is running. The other three codes all relate to a transmission fault. First check that the transmission has plenty of fluid on the transmission dip stick. Top it up if low. Next check that the transmission relay and its fuse are OK. Pull the transmission relay out and put back again a few times, it could be a bad connection and plugging it in and out could freshen the contacts. Check the contacts to the transmission control module and ensure that they are clean and bright. If the problem persists take it to a transmission specialist.

Misti,
Both error codes relate to the transmission.

Chrysler Repair P1776 Code

Before you panic unduly .. 0700 is just a warning that something is amiss. 1776 gives possible causes.

Your rule of thumb is that if your car drives okay .. it is okay .. but there's something you should do.

Any half-decent workshop should be able to solve the problem. It may be something as simple as a bad electrical connection or a fluid change is needed.

Engine code reads P1776 1/2 and P0700 transmission

P0700-This Relates to MIL"Malfunction Indicator Lamp")( Request - Control System for Transmission
unable to locate description for P1776,can you get all systems scanned for codes again as 0700 just indicates that a fault has occurred that has lit the check light and logged at the ECU.
Obviously it will be related to the shift fault, maybe a speed sensor or a dirty fluid fault.
Get back to me with any extra info.

I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid SE and the check engine light has been on for several days. I took it to Auto Zone and they plugged in their tester. They gave me the following codes - P1776 and P0700. Please...

P0700 code is a generic code for Transmission Control System Malfunction

P1776 code means your solenoid switch valve is stuck in low reverse. (DTC 47) A stuck solenoid switch valve is a common occurrence in the valve body of the Dodge 41te transmission.

The first step would be to check the wiring to the solenoid from the TCM, then maybe try a new solenoid pack if the wiring is determined to be fine.

Po700 and p1776

P0700 is EATX code present. It simply means that the engine computer has noticed that the transmission computer has a dtc in it. This causes the Pcm (engine computer) to turn the check engine light on. You will need to have the TCM (trans computer) checked for codes to know what to diagnose.

error code P1776 - Replace rear solenoid switch

Likely both related The P1776 probably kicked off the P0700 notification.

Hope that helps! Happy Motoring!

Check engine light on 2005 town and country 3.3

(DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request)

Translation:
Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure.

P0700 Information Code

The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM.

This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes.

P1776: Solenoid Switch Valve Latched in Low/Reverse Position. The TCM monitors the L/R solenoid to ensure that the fluid transfer happens. It uses a Pressure switch to verify this. Usually this code is set by a switch that is stuck or a solenoid that is not mechanically operating.

A transmission shop would be better suited for this type of work.
