WHAT IS THE COURSE FOR THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT TO GO ON IN A NISSAN X-TRAIL2,5SE 2005 MODEL

The warning light comes on for a variety of reasons, anything from an ignition problem to vacuum leak. You can take it to your local dealership or auto parts store and they can usually hook up a reader to the computer in your car and read the trouble code which well tell you exactly why the light came on.
If you would like to read the code yourself here is what you do: To check the fault code yourself from the comfort of your own garage, put the ECM in "Diagnostic Test Mode II" by doing the following:

1) Sit your **** in the driver's seat.
2) Turn the ignition key to the ON position and wait three seconds. (Do not start the car.)
3) Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal five times in less than five seconds. (If you've got bad ankles, give up now and drive the car to the dealer.)
4) Wait exactly seven seconds. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and hold it down for about ten seconds until the MIL light begins flashing.
5) Release the accelerator pedal and start counting flashes to obtain the four-digit trouble code. Long flashes (0.6 seconds) indicate the first digit of the code; count the blinks one through nine and write down the first digit. (Ten blinks indicates a zero.) The next three digits follow in turn in the same fashion except with faster blinks (0.3 second) and a 1.0-second pause between digits.

The ECM code repeats intself until you turn the ignition key to the OFF position, at which point the ECM resets itself to standard get-in-and-drive-the-car mode. You can look up the trouble codes in the ESM/FSM; there's a bunch of them. In the ESM, refer to page EC-639. Additionally, if you get four blinks of ten (0000), the ECM is indicating no malfunction.

You can clear the code (and the annoying MIL) by holding down the accelerator pedal for more than 10 seconds while in Diagnostic Test Mode II. When you release the pedal, the ECM erases the trouble code(s).

Runs fine but the check engine light keeps blinking 1 pause then 2 quick blinks then repeats

Code 12 indicates the end of a code sequence. It is not a trouble code. It will blink if there are no codes to let you know there are no codes.

Air bag light

It means that there is a problem with your air bag. It should be blinking a code. Count the blinks. In otherwords it should blink twice, pause and then blink 7 more times indicating a code 27 which would be a burned out bulb on PAD. Count blink code and the google your truck year and air bag code and then the code and see what the forums are saying about it and what to check.

It starts then dies.

put your key in the ignition, turn it on and then off 3 times withing 5 seconds, do not actually start the vehicle doing this. after doing this the check engine light will blink a diagnostic code in sequence. a slight pause between blinking is the indictaion that the next number is going to blink, some codes will look like this, blinks 1 time and pause, blinks 4 times then no more. the code for this would be 14, you will then have to look up the engine codes for your make and model of vehicle to see what the computer in your vehicle has to say what is wrong. when you retrieve the code write down what the code says and then call a mechanic to get further information on how easy it is to fix.

Car almost didnt start then s light blinked the

Hi,

The 'S' light is also your diagnostic indicator....so, the answer lies in the 'sequence' which the S light blinks.

Codes:

Long blinks: 1st digit
short blinks: 2nd digit

e.g.1 - if there are 6 short blinks (followed by long pause) then repeats 6 blinks again, the code = 6.

e.g.2 - if there is 1 long blink, then 4 short blinks (followed by long pause) then repeats again, the code = 14.

The ECU may show more more than one code.

Once you determine the correct code/s, post them here so someone can assist you further.

Cheers,

How can i stop airbag light from blinking while driving

Your airbag light blinking is telling you that something is wrong within the airbag system. The blinking is giving a code, it will blink x amount of times, then pause and again blink x amount of times. Example it blinks 3 times, then a pause, and then blinks 2 times, means the code is 32.

After you get the code you can find out what the problem is, and what exactly needs to be repaired. If you're not experienced with airbag systems, it is best to have it serviced by a professional.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

94 Ford Bronco - SRS Lamp blinking 12

Code 12 is loss of voltage to airbag firing circuit. Start with checking airbag fuse. It should be fuse number 15 for the cluster. It is also the airbag fuse. If the fuse is good then the airbag module might be bad.
