Does it run if you put gas into the throttle body? If so, then it may be a fuel pump going bad, or the circuit to the fuel pump is dead.

Test for power at the fuel pump, then, when ignition key is on.

Test for pressure of fuel using a gauge at the fuel rail.

Basic Fuel System Diagnosis Two of the most import diagnostic checks, when dealing with a driveability problem involve the ignition and the fuel systems. The questions most technicians attempt to answer first are "is there spark?'' and "is there fuel?'' This often leads to solving most basic problems. For ignition system diagnostic testing, please refer to the information on engine electrical components and ignition systems found earlier in this manual. If the ignition system checks out (there is spark), then you must determine if the fuel system is operating properly (is there fuel?).

The fuel pump relay under the hood in the fuse box is located in the middle.

Check your Fuel Pump Fuse and Relay first, if those are good check the Fuel Pump, than check to see if your Coil is getting power from the Battery.

These cars have a history of bad camshaft sensors. This would be my first suspicion.

I have a 2001 Saturn L300, when the engine gets hot but not overheating and I stop my car dies. takes about twenty minutes and will restart. I can go about ten blocks and it starts all over.

Check the electric fans and see if the are coming on. If not check fuses and relays. It goes as far as the ECM which controls the fans.

I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 5.9L V8 it dies randomly while driving it don't do it everyday and conditions vary it won't restart unless you turn key all the way off and wait for 30 sec or so

Connect fuel pressure gauge such that you can (or better, helper can) see it while driving. Check for pressure drop as engine dies. If yes, pump or relay (or both) need replacement. Could also be electrical issue in ignition switch, relay, crank/cam sensor. Intermittent issues are hardest to find, but don't worry, it will get worse, lol.

My car won't start. The engine will begin to start but will not turn over. Other attempts every thing dies except the door lights. The prior owner said that it could be the relay fuse. Anyone, any ide

My first thought is a bad battery. Check the battery voltage. If other electrical things aren't working this seems to be the most likely scenario.

Honda Odyssey engine suddenly dies while driving on HWY

This problem may take sometime to find. Please write back with specific vehicle information (year, engine size, mileage, maintenance history, recent repairs and anything else you can think of. A few suggestions to get started. The usual rule of thumb is if there is a drivability issue and the engine light is off then it is mechanical. Check the fuses and relays. Look for loose connections (fuses and relays should slide in with firm pressure). Also look for any signs of over heating. Inspect the fuses and relays for melted spots and corrosion. Check the performance of the ignition switch. It may be worn and loosing contact with related parts, affecting performance. It could be the fuel pump too. There are other suggestions but the other failures should turn the engine light on. I hope this helps but I would like to hear back from you. I feel like I could help more, if I knew more about your problem. Good luck.

check you fuses and clean your battery terminals, you might have a relay that controls you ignition. or could be your coil pack.
