42Le trans. will not shift out of ow gear need to locate TCM

If you are looking for the "TCM" it is pretty fair to assume that you have not yet scanned your computer network for fault codes. How do you know the problem is not being caused by something simple like a speed sensor? Just asking!

There is no "TCM" on a 2002 Dodge Intrepid. The transmission is controlled by the same computer module that controls the engine. It is called a "Powertrain Control Module" or "PCM".

2002 Dodge Intrepid ES shift selector is stiff, difficult to move into position. Is this a linkage rebuild issue?

You have a shift cable. This cable may be getting a
little worn. One way to check it is, disconnect the
cable at the transmission and see if it is still stiff.
Look under the hood, just to the right of the brake
booster. You will see 2 cables that come through
the firewall, one is the throttle cable, it will go to the
right towards the center of the engine. The other is
the shift cable, it will go down to the transmission
linkage. Disconnect the cable there and see if it
shifts any easier. If not, replace the cable.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
