Get a wrench that fits on the fan clutch. Most auto part stores will have a fan clutch removal tool.

It works the best if you put the wrench onto the fan clutch and then hit it with a hammer in the dirction to take the clutch off. Sometimes it might take multiple tries to break the clutch loose.

SOURCE: Mercury Villager headlight assembly diagaram for removal

This is easy. Lift the lid open. Look at the back of the sealed beam and you will see a clip and an o ring. Pull the clip up and pull wires back toward the driver's seat. Unscrew the o ring and firmly pull the bulb out toward the driver again. Note the 3 tabs on the bulb seat and realign the new bulb with those tab ( 2 bottom, 1 top). Replace with #9007 bulbs..do them both.

I use alot of water..i changed my intake 3 months ago..i dnt see any water from weep hole..i did see my fan stop and start again..when i crank it ..it makes a rubbing noise by that fan and a chirping...

I would replace the fan clutch and see if that fixed it. You can check the water pump shaft after you switch fan clutches. Your water loss can be from overheating. Some Service stations have Radiator pressure testers and you might have your cap tested too.

Sometimes you can borrow tools from Autozone or Oreillys with a refundable deposit.

How do i install the water pump for my 1993 mercury grand marquis

Fan clutch is attached to the water pump, willrequire a large crescent wrench or 36mm wrench. Take out the four plasticshroud bolts too that hold it on, 10mm I am thinking, that way you removeshroud and clutch as one. Carefully just sit clutch vertical...like it sits incar, so no silicone leaks out. Now you take the tension off the drive beltusing the 1/2" square hole in the tension pulley and drop the belt. Takeout the four bolts holding pulley to water pump, remove. Remove four boltsholding water pump and remove pump. Clean surface pump mounts to, make sure youuse a new o ring on new pump, should come with one, some do not. Reverse toinstall.
