Hi i have a 1999 ford windstar and i just changed the wheel bearing does anybody know the spec's for the axle nut?

2014 Ford Fusion 2.5L, 2WD Torque Specs for front wheel hub assembly needed Axle nut/bolt, Hub bolts


the four axle nuts, 98 ft lbs, tighten in criss-cross pattern.
The hub nut/wheel bearing, 148 ft lbs, use new nut, don't let vehicle weight sit on the ground while torqueing, it could damage the wheel bearing.
If I left something out, give me a holler.

Front wheel bearing torque


Personally I TQ all axle nuts between 120 ft lbs and 150 ft lbs... i have never had a problem. I have not seen many specs under this or over this.... But i dont know if you are asking about wheel bearing bolts to knuckle or the axle nuts. 30 ft lbs usually works with some blue thread lock for bearing to knuckle.

1999 plymouth breeze. step on brakes and the front brakes have a bad pulsing to them. previous owner hab brakes done rotars turned and pads replaced. any suggestions on how to address this problem

How to assemble a front wheel bearing on a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4


The front wheel bearing is a hub and bearing assembly. To remove you will.... 1. Remove the tire 2. Remove the axle nut. You can put a punch in the fins of the rotor to keep the assembly from turning while you rmove the nut. You can can do the same thing when you torque the axle nut. 3. Remove the caliper and rotor. 4. Unplug the abs sensor if equipped. 5. Remove the three bolts that hold the hub to the knuckle. 6. Rmove the hub. If you need torque specs let me know and i'll get them for you. It is absolutely critical that you torque the axle nut to the proper spec!

Whts the torque on the single outer nut on the front axle that holds the wheel bearing hub on a 2001 windstar ?


This is a special nut because it's deformed to retain torque. It's also a one-time use nut. I beleive it is 170-203 ft. lbs, good-day !

Changing front wheel bearing everything good till can't get axle out of way


assuming you have the lower ball joint loose, sometimes you have to disconnect the outer tie rod as well. The hub should then swing out. If the axle is stuck in the hub, put the nut back on the axle and hit the nut with a hammer. OK?

TO REMOVE FRONT WHEEL BEARING.YOU NEED TO SAFELY RAISE SUPPORT VECHICLE ON JACK STANDS.MAKE SURE SITTING ON LEVEL SOLID GROUND.BEFORE RAISING VECHICLE OFF GROUND YOU NEED TO LOOSEN HALF SHAFT AXLE NUT JUST A LITTLE BECAUSE WHEEL IN THE AIR HARD TO LOOSEN AXLE NUT WHEN YOU HAVE HOLD THE WHEEL WHILE LOOSEN THE AXLE NUT WHICH IS TORQUE ON ABOUT 200 FT LBS.USING A SIX POINT AXLE SOCKET SOCKET SIZE COULD BE 34 OR 35 METRIC 1/2 INCH SOCKET.YOU NEED 1/2 INCH BREAKER BAR.ONCE YOU LOOSEN AXLE NUT A LITTLE THEN RAISE VECHICLE THEN REMOVE WHEEL.THEN FINISHING REMOVING AXLE NUT AND WASHER.THEN REMOVE THE CALIPER FROM THE STEERING KNUCKLE AND SUPPORT IT ASIDE USING A PIECE OF WIRE.REMOVE BRAKE ROTOR.THEN REMOVE THE 3 HUB BEARING ASSEMBLY BOLTS. I need a front wheel bearing diagram for a ford escape 2002


The front wheel bearings on the escapes are pressed in. If you plan on doing it yourself you will need to remove the entire knuckle and then have a machine shop or service center press out the old bearing and press in the new bearing.

To remove the knuckle you will
Remove the caliper and rotor
separate the lower ball joint from the knuckle
remove the axle nut
remove the knuckle to strut bolts.

After you have the new bearing installed and everything is back together make sure you tighten the axle nut to the proper spec. Failure to due so will cause premature failure of the bearing.

Proper torque for bolts on front wheel


The axle nut spec is 177 foot lbs. and the bearing to knuckle bolts spec is 133 foot lbs.

What all do i remove to replace the rear wheel bearings on a 1995


First jack rear end up and block it..Remove the rear tires,Take off caliper and caliper bracket..Next remove the rotor,Then there will be a big nut in the center that the axle is bolted to.Remove that nut..Then make sure thees no wires for abs or any other kind of wires connected to the bearing.Next you should see 3 bolts holding the bearing in maybe 4 they changed them so many times..After removing the bolts you'll probably need a hammer and a chisel or air chisel to get the bearing out..Be careful when doing this to not damage the holder thats holding the bearing it.Go all the way around it with the chisel working all corners to removing the bearing..By now you should have progress on getting it out.Repeat process to installing the new one..Just be very carefull in not ruining the new one and there is a torque spec on the center nut that holds the axle and tightens the bearings preload.Call your local parts store for torque spec on rear axle nut.If you don't get the right amount off torque will result in early failure.Not to tight and not to loose.It not that major and it may seem but will save you money in the end..So dont forget to get the torque specs.Good luck and happy I could help..
