The 4.6 litre engine typically requires 5w-30. However, you can use 10w-30.

00 expedition alarm goes of every 20 seconds

First Thing you should do is get either PB Blaster or WD 40.

SPRAY ALL 5 LOCKING Mechanisms... SO THE OIL IS FLOWING...

Then close and open and close 10-15 times.... DO ALL 5 DOORS/LIFTGATE.

Did I ask if your Door OPEN light is on or your Running Boards Lights?

Something is triggering your Alarm and it is normally the Doors on an Expedition.... I own 2 of them (1997 and 2004) and BOTH have the same issue but it goes away once I Oil them.

What's your problem?2004 ford expedition service engine soon light

I assume you resolved the issues by now

Check lights have been on all vehicles for 31 years,
so you shouldn't be asking about them

Does not matter what light comes on your dash

The procedure is always the same
Check for codes
Diagnose & repair code related issues first

Oil pressure gauge light on until engine gets warm and then goes off

oil pickup screen could be clogged, or your oil weight needs to be something different. for some reason your oil pressure is not correct until it warms up. First thing to do is run some engine flush through it.

Purchase and run some engine flush through the oil....make sure you buy a new filter and change the oil...

post back how it goes...there are some more things you can do but we should start off here first.

Tapping motor in my 2004 expedition

It may have hydraulic lifter froze up. You might try
a good oil additive in oil. If the engine has a lot of miles it may need new cam & lifters

This may be due to old oil. I'd first try changing the oil. The viscosity of old oil may be to thin causing serious run off in the top end. All of the lubrication may be off of the valve assembly causing it to chatter and make these noises until the motor can re-lubricate the valve train.

Also, it may be due to low oil, to heavy of a wieght of oil (such as 15w40 or 20x50). I believe with most of the 04's the recommended oil weight is 5w30.

Try an oil change and see if the noise goes away. If it doesn't I'd do a quick visual inspection under the hood for rattling parts while the engine is running. It could just be a loose housing or something causing the noise. Hope this helps bud!

Where is the oil sending unit on a 2000 5.4 litre expedition

the pressure sender is near/next to the oil filter. And yes this does sound like a sender issue.
