Question about 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

2002 Chrysler T&C - no front blower

I have a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country LXI and the front blower fan for the passenger compartment isn't working on any of the speeds. This is a 3.8 V6 with auto climate control. I heard a slight ''pop'' followed by the smell of burning electrical parts after which the fan didn't work any more. I've checked the fuses and relays and both are good. What is the next step? Blower motor, Resisters, ???? Thanks!

SOURCE: 1996 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY LXI, TURNS OFF

This is a common problem and is many times caused by the automatic idle speed control valve being full of sludge, this causes it to react slowly, also sludge builds up around the throttle valve and adds to the problem of stalls when the engine is loaded quickly, this happens when you go from park drive or reverse, below you will find a cleaning procedure I use to resolve this problem, it works in at least 90% cars that have this problem.

To correct this problem I want you to get a can of intake cleaner (ABOUT $5.00) from any local auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, do not use carburetor spray, intake cleaner only or u will damage the Teflon coating inside the throttle valve and air bypass valve, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

SOURCE: 1997 town & country stalls intermittently. ...

I had the same problem in the past with the lights. I repaired it by removing the the dash panel and re-soldering the pins where the harness plugs into. I am currently having the stall issue. in my research it seems to be the crank shaft sensor. I was told that the crank shaft sensor and the cam sensor work together and have decided to change them both along with the gas filter.

Where is the Blower Motor Resisitor located in a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country LXi? I checked behind the glove box and did not see the darn thing. Anyone? I have the part and was hoping for a quick fix.

It is under the dash by the blower motor on the passengers side.Just turn on the blower motor and follow the fan noise if it works. The resistor will be connected to the blower motor.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Front climate control blower only works on high speed.

Replace your blower motor resistor
Resistor located under dash on passenger side in screwed into blower housing. May be able to be repaired. Requires soldering a small piece of "unmelted solder" across where the old fusible link was. look carefully at resistor. Or else just replace. Buy new. Junkyard resistor likely to be as bad as yours.
