You most likely need a 15 dollar ujoint. The dealer will sell you the whole unit to make a better return. Even so a driveshaft can be balanced for about $100 bucks if it were out of balance but if you did not loose a weight or bend it then it shoulds be just fine. Go to an independant shop. You will be treated better and only the parts needed will be sold to you.

I have a 2008 dodge dakota & the clock says unavailable. I guess this isn't covered under warranty? Does anyone know?

still should be under bumper to bumper warranty. As long as you are within 3 years, or 36,000 miles.

Rough riding dakota

I would think, most likely the shocks are bad. The springs could be weak, but I would think it would sit a bit low. I'd check the stabilizer links. The vibration could be a bad universal joint in the driveshaft. I'd replace the shocks first.

Looking for the transmission removal procedure for a 2005 dodge durango 4x4 automatic ?

Why do you need to remove the tranny. How many miles on the Durango? If you are under 70k miles and are the 1st or 2nd owner and paid the xfer fee to have the 7/70 warranty put into your name, your local dealer will make the repair for $100.

My 2005 durango engages the 4 wheel drive by itself and wont disengage the service 4wd light comes on first what could the problem be please help

This issue has reared its ugly head more than once on the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Durangos. Sometimes a simple battery disconnect /reset can cure the issue.

Other times, the TCCM or Transfer Case Control Module was at fault and needed to be replaced.

If you are fortunate enough to be still under the 7/70 powertrain warranty, the dealer will replace the TCCM for the $100 deductible.

Otherwise, it can cost in the region of $400.

2000 Dodge Dakota vibration while driving

sound like the u-joints in the driveshaft. Lay under the truck and where the u-joints are try moving the driveshaft up and down. If it moves then the u-joints are bed. This will cause a tremendous vibration under a load and the faster it spins it will smooth out.

2005 dodge diesel got a 70mph a vibration

I would check the driveshaft. This is the most likely cause. Get on a flat surface with the engine off, wheels chalked, in nuetral, brake released. This will allow free movement of the axle. Shake it vigoruosly up down right left. Don't forget both front and rear. These joints usually have an 80 K mile life give or take. If any loosness is felt at all, that's your vibration.
