The auto windows in my 1999 lincoln continental are not working but I hear the motor running?

Either the linkage in the door is broken or the window is off track. Either way you will have to remove the door panel to check it out. If any of the plastic clips break when popping off the panel, you can get them at a auto parts store.

1997 Lincoln Continental: Right Rear Passenger Side Power Window does not go up or down (currently up). When I activate switch on driver's door panel, dash light will dim very slightly (indicating...

The drivers door ,of course, gets worked the most. the binding is from the window regulator wearing out. they can't be fixed, only replaced. the other doors are usually the motors, from non use. As you indicated the light dims, so you are getting power to the motor, but it is locked and possibly the regulator is locked up. When the motors drags or lock, you can sometimes smack the door and get them to work again as your try to roll them up or down. also try to assist the window down as you activate it. There is only one circuit breaker for the windows.

The left rear window on my 1998 Lincoln Continental is stuck down so I assume it`s the motor. How do I test it & remove the door panel and motor

There's usually a combination of screws and plastic clips holding the panel on. Just take em all off and pull the panel. Then unplug the motor. There should be two prongs on the plug on the motor side. Run jumpers from your battery and then using test wires touch both terminals with the test wires. If it doesn't work, reverse your wires..if it still doesn't work then the motor is bad
