Question about Mitsubishi Galant
Hi, this is quite difficult to do if you have never done them before as they are a bit difficult to get to. 3 of them are on the front and the other 3 on the back of the engine
right under the intake manifold. and if u haven't replaced them before
your self they can be quite difficult.
Its also best to replace them one at a time so as you dont get the plug wires back on the wrong way round. so change the front 3 first and then the back 3 but only do 1 at a time to rule out getting the ht leads back on the wrong way round, you may need to remove a plastic cover to get to the spark plugs but you can find them easy if you follow the plug leads and these will go to the spark plugs so remove one wire at a time then use spark plug tool and extension lead to undo the plug, make sure you dont cross thread them when putting the new plugs in due to the face the cylinder head will need to come off to have the threads fixed.
take your time and you should have no problems, if you are really unsure then it may be worth getting hold of a workshop manual.
If you type this into google 2003 galant 6 cyl workshop manual
then search this will list loads of sites that will let you download a free workshop manual which should then help you when ever you need to do work on your vehicle.
here is another description of the plug location you may need to remove the coils to get to 2 of the plugs as depending on the year would depend on wether these are in the way to get the other plugs out, its been a while since i done one so not 100% sure on your model but you should be able to do it no problems
they are right along the top of the engine going in behind the valve cover. They are deep down inside under the wire w/boot 2 of them have ignition coils on top of them (they are bolted down with 2 small bolts each) and have plugs plugged into them (1 each on outside edge) the other two are just beneith the rubber boots connected to the spark plug wire. Hope this helped you out.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
