What he said but in more common terms. The ground connection to the headlight is bad. Three wires run to the bulb. One is ground, one is for the high beam, other is for the low beam. The ground wire sometimes is a short wire run to a connector screwed into the body creating the ground connection. Commonly on GM cars the black is the ground, the tan is the low beam and lt green is the high beam. You can correct this by running a wire from the black wire in the heaclight connector to the battery negative terminal or chassis ground. Hope that helps

Just curious...are you having a headlight problem?...GM cars are famous for the multi-function switch going bad (turn signal lever), I just replaced one in a 2002 Buick Century, it controls the wipers, the cruise, dims the headlights, etc...that's the first thing I would look at...

Why won't my headlights on my 2002 Buick Century go off. I had to disconnect the battery cable.

there several things that keep the headlamps on #1 the beam selector lever rod is stuck on . does the beam selector move freely and click when changing beams. # 2 dash pad covering ambient light sensor #3 headlamp on sense wire shorted to power . #4 Bad body control module. #5 headlamp control relay faulty.

sounds like your alternator is seizing up. take of the serpentine belt and turn the alternator by hand if it sweels or don`t turn, time to replace it. easy fix if thats the case. while your belt is off check the other pullys as well.

Is the dimmer switch for the dash lights turned down low ?
If not, the problem could be in the dimmer control.

My headlights and dash lights are starting to flicker on my 2002 Buick Century. Once in a great while the headlights go completely off for just a split second and then immediately come back on.

It probably has a bad headlight switch or the connector that plugs into the back of the switch is burned. The burned connector will cause a bad connection.

To change the low beam headlight on the 2001 Lesabre, the headlight assembly must first be removed from the car. It is really quite simple to do. There are two bolts on the top of the assembly that must be removed - that is all! The entire assembly comes out and gives easy access to the low beam bulb. Give it a 1/4 counterclockwise turn to remove it. Plus in the new one (#9006) and reverse the procedure.
