Hi i have an 00 Pontiac sun fire gt could someone please tell me which motor mount to to check the top moves an the bottom one move to how can you test them?

Hi ok the way i always did it was keep car in park pop hood and first move car backwards and see movement of the engine see if there is excessive play should only move about 1-3 inched then pull the car forwards and see how much movement in the engine if there is more one way or the other that will help show you where to start looking if it flopps both ways then you prolly got both bad but 9 times out of ten it is the trans mounts in the front by the radiator.

2000 pontiac sunfire 2.4L twin cam. When put in drive I hear a loud bang and when driving it has a quieter bang when it shifts gears.


Check your motor mounts, it sound like your motor is rocking back and forth. You can confirm this by watching the engine while someone shifts it in and out of gear for you.

check the fuses-sometimes a good one is bad could be a bad motor also-it might be corroded or gettin old. check wire connections thats the 1st step or bring it to those discount places they scan it for free

Ac blows cool than hot seems like a confused system


as it is a general motors product i beleive the relay is right on the compressor. check fuses and any other relays
