So long as the meter does not go into the Red/Orange zone, then it is likely just getting hotter because of the hot weather.

You can help avoid any problems by not driving in stop and go traffic and trying to park the car in shady spots when you can. Not driving for more than an hour helps and driving with the Vent on will help too (but it will make it extra hot inside the car, lol).

If it reaches the red zone, then park it and get ready, cause it's time to replace the thermostat and do a general tune up.

Follow the upper radiator hose back to the motor.
Remove the clamp and disconnect the hose.
There should be two bolts holding the thermostat housing to the engine.
Remove the two bolts and pull the thermostat housing from the engine.
remove the thermostat
clean off the old gasket
replace new thermostat and a new gasket
Bolt the thermostat housing back to the engine.
Put the radiator hose back on, and refill the radiator.
All the above method I learned from

My check engine light is on, and today my temperature gauge stopped working and we have replaced the engine coolant sensor and the connector and temperature gauge still not working. PLEASE HELP

Could be the thermostat. I know nothing about cars but I noticed my 2000 Grand Prix temp gauge was not going to the normal level. My wife drives this car so I didn't notice it for a month or so. Eventually the Engine light came on. Took it to Autozone and the code came back as P0180... (1) low coolant (2) bad thermostat (3) enginge fuel temp sensor. They used a code reader that was about the size of an Ipod nano.

Coolant was okay, so took it to my mechanic. His netbook sized computer showed it was the Thermostat. He reset the codes and the temp guage went back to normal. Was short on $40 for the fix at the time, so I parked the car and promised to bring it back in 3 days. Went out and checked the car a day later at 25 degrees outside without starting the car... gauge still sitting at the normal level. No question it's the thermostat. That car will not be driven again until T.stat is fixed in 2 days.

Where is the temperature gauge hand supposed to

The needle should stay at or just below the 3/4 mark but it may go slightly higher but that would be rare. An example would be driving with the car loaded with 4 people, a/c running on high with outside temperatures of 95 degrees or more.

How do I replace the dome light for a 1999 kia sephia?

If you look closely at the dome light cover you will notice two small notches in one side of the cover. Simply take a knife and put into the notches with a gentle prying motion. The cover should come right off and you should have access to the light

Over heating

it could be a faulty water pump not pushing enough water around the motor or could be a stuck thermostat its probably not a good idea to be drivng it until its fixed both are resonably inexpensive to get replaced
