1.4 hours to replace rear air springs.

$89 a piece for the air spring bag at

So, I think $3900.00 is high.

They're not replacing the air shocks with the conversion kit. they are replacing the front and rear air bags and the computer module and the car has being in the shop for three weeks, they just took it to the dealership for them to repair. now it's going to be another 3-5 days before i get my car back.

If you scroll down it says that there are air spring bags available for that price I saw.

However, if they're changing the other parts the price will be higher, especially at the dealer.

My 1989 Lincoln Continental air suspension went out is there a replacement spring or shock I can use instead of orignal air ride

Yes, theres a kit that replaces the air bags with shocks and springs and then they give you a small module that connects in the trunk to the air suspension diagnostic connector to turn off the air ride light and keep compressor from running, i,ve found that the price ends up costing the same or more to replace than repair. i have done a ton of these and the problem is the bags leak and sometimes cause the airpump to go bad, theres a web site i use that sells these parts cheap and they work great, start by replacing the bags and then the compressor if needed, the selinoids on the bags are reuseable, now if this car has the front and rear air ride then it is cheaper to convert and i think this car does if its got the v6 engine then it is front and rear air suspension, they sell a kit for 499.00 dollars and comes with struts and springs complete to convert i think just one air strut is 200.00 so it is cheaper to convert .i hope this helps, the web site is get google Airnott industries and then go to the coorect year and make for your car,

My air shocks are down and i don;t know what fuse to look for

the fuse is it the right front relay/fuse box, 60 amps I think. Most likely the shocks leak, then the pump runs too much to keep them up, then the pump burns up and blows the fuse. There are companies that make a shock for the rear to delete the air ride, the air ride can cost a lot to get running again. shocks and compressor.

No. The Lincoln Continental does not have air bags in the front. It is not exactly hard to convert the rear airbags to springs. It is more time consuming than anything. I have a 1996 Town Car, I had a mechanic replace the air shocks with springs.

The Continental has an "air ride system" from the factory.
Remember air shocks from the past to raise the back and stuff those huge tires in? Sorta' like that.
Either a hole has been worn in a hose or one of the bags.
It's a common prob. with the Lincolns.
Grab a chair, sit down, click this link and find what's in reality a less expensive fix IF you decide to replace the entire system.... (Click on "replace the entire system")
Keep in mind your's can probably be repaired, but it's getting old and those rubber air bags under neath are getting old and fragle....

The last time i Bought an air pump for a lincoln was about 300.00 dollars. We finally took out the air bags and replaced them with springs of course if you do this you also have to buy a set or shocks to put in as well. The cost of doing this may vary but i would guess about 700.00
