Question about Buick Enclave
I happen to live in Pennsylvania where it is indeed hilly. The TPS can be checked by an engine analyzer or scanner for continuity of resistance increase as you press the pedal down further until it hits 100% with a minimum of 5% when your accelerator pedal is not depressed.
If the engine hesitates and then surges ahead, this points to a possible tune up problem. But, if you have no misses on the OBDII system at the dealer (and that's where a late model car should go) and no service engine soon light then this is certainly a mystery.
Nowadays, they can modify the characteristics of the computer's software to downshift in hopes that the mechanical advantage can overcome any initial hesitation. But, you're saying this is not good enough.
How many miles does it have? Have you had it tuned up regularly?
