OK, on a serpentine belt system there are 2 types of pulleys, grooved and smooth.

The smooth part of the pulley goes against the smooth part of the belt.

And the grooved part of the pulley goes against the grooved part of the belt.

Just thread it in over, under, over under until the last pulley is the tensioner pulley.

Then use the 1/2" breaker bar to get the pulley to allow the belt to slide onto it and you're done.

Need info and instruction on how to change the serpentine belt pulley it needs to be replaced( the pulley) so my sons need advice on that and maybe the tensioner adjustment

The tensioner is under spring force to keep the belt tight.
You put a wrench on the bolt head in the center and use it to lever the spring force off of the belt. While the tension is off the belt can be temoved(be careful that tensioner can snap down and whack your knuckles) Take a pic of the belt routing before you remove it, so you will have an idea how it goes back on

How do change the serpentine belt on a 2003 grand am 2.2 engine

you have to release the pressure on the idler pulley by using a long handled wrench and pull up on it to relieve the pressure and slide the belt off insuring that before you do this remember the way it goes back on or just take a pic with your cell phone.
rating please! and if you dont know how, please ask the fix-ya people how to do this, thank you

Im looking for a pic of the serp belt so i know how to put it back on

You don't need that. All you have to do is use the 'under over' method.
You see, the pulleys are designed to ride on the 2 different sides of the serpentine belt.

Simply put the flat ungrooved side against the flat pulleys, and put the grooved side on the grooved side of the next pulley, until you've done all but one, the idler or tensioner pulley.

Use a breaker bar to move the tensioner pulley in a way that the serpentine belt can be slipped on.

And that's it.

How to change belt on a 98 pontiac bonniville

You are asking how to remove the serpentine belt on your 3800 engine ?
First, I would take several pictures so you know how it goes back on.
1) * You must have a special idle pulley tool. Take you tool and pry the idle pulley enough to remove belt, dispose of old belt.
2) Now place the new belt on the pulleys just as you see in the pictures you took or look at the diagram on the radiator support.
3) Pull the idle pulley again with your tool and put on the belt.
The idle pulley will put the tension in the belt.
Please let me know how it went.

I cant remove the serpentine belt

Look for a hole you can fit the square end of a ratchet in. Should be a 3\8 or 1\2 inch drive. Or it's a pulley with a spring in it. It will look like it's on a lever type thingy. Just put a wrench on the bolt in the middle of the pulley turn to the left, bolt turns, wrong one, pulley moves, right one. Don't forget to take a pic of the belt so you know how to put it back on.

Getting the belt back on

This is difficult to describe online but im assuming you mean the drive belt. So im going to try to explain this.

There are 4 pulleys, 3 shaped like a triangle with 1 pulley in the middle. The belt goes around the outside of the pulleys on all 3 sides. Between the bottom two pulleys the belt goes around the bottom right pulley up and around the center pulley and back down around the bottom left pulley. I tried to make it understandable, pretty confusing to type out though. good luck

I tried to make

Need simple question answered about 1990 Izuzu Trooper.

One way you can usually tell is that the tensioner base mounts to engine with a bolt in the center of the casting, & pulley is offset from that casting. Put your wrench on the offset pulley bolt to relieve tension. There are various set-ups on that engine so maybe we better confirm which engine it is ?
