You will have to be more specific, What is a Motor ground Cable...IF you mean an ENGINE Ground?? this can be bolted on anyplace that is not rusty or greasy of the said IRON Frame?? FYI: Motor is something that derives its power from an outside source, like a battery or electricity. an ENGINE is an Internal Combustion unit which makes its own power within itself, like a diesel which ignites the mixture by VERY high compression, a Gasoline ENGINE uses the same system only cannot build up as high a compression so it needs a spark from a plug to ignite the mixture which in turn blows the piston down its shaft, which turns the crankshaft, which turns the gears in the Transmission, which turns the wheels and THUS you have MOTION...try and do that with a MOTOR...HOWEVER they are attempting to invent exactly that with these electric vehicles, THEN and ONLY THEN can they be called MOTORS>..UR VELCUM

How do I install the starter on a 1997 Murcury Mystique. I didn't take it foo but it needs to be installed.

Well Jerome,

That's a good name for a car in such a dilemma...
Mystique... 1997 (posted both 4 & 6 cylinder parts).

Since the lifting is the hard part... it would be better to take it to your cooperative PARTS HOUSE FOR TESTING..

ELSE
you might GET to do everything at least twice (bad idea).

If you have the bolts.. the job gets a lot simpler.
Generally you have a Huge (POS +) wire that connects
from the battery DIRECTLY to the SOLENOID.

First thing:
You want to do is DISCONNECT the GROUND
at the BATTERY (NEGATIVE (-)) terminal.
(Always first off & last on... always... safety first).

Connect the "S" lead to the "S" terminal
(battery KEY switched ON only in START Position) ...

If you don't own (or want to buy) a manual
go to BBB Industries and register to use their
wiring DIAGRAMS & TSBs
(See very bottom: Technical Service Bulletins).

2007 F150 5.4 King Cab Rear Windows

Hello Wayne; Focus on the grounding of the cab to chasis. The cab is mounted on rubber pods so direct grounding through a mounting bolt is sketchy.. Motors require a very good ground or the connection will build corrosion and compromise itself. There is a ground strap from engine to cab under the hood. This little strap is primarily for static as the vehicle is driven. It stll should be tight and clean. The grounds that need removal, cleaning and reinstall should be two cables on bolts. The first is the battery negative cable. It is fastened to the engine. The second is a cable or braided strap fastened to the engine and other end to the frame. Chk around the motor mounts. I've found braided grnd straps at those locations. Good Luck and I hope this helped -Ned

97 Murcury Sabel overheating and water bubbling out.

Sounds like a bad head gasket. Most times the head block will crack too. When you get air in with the water it will not cool properly if you replace the gasket without over heating too much you might save it.

I changed the radiator in my 1998 Volvo V70, after installing the new radiator and reconnecting all the connectors, the care won't crank or turn over. tried to jum car with no success; lights and radio...

sounds like the ground cable is not hooked to the motor, see there is one for the frame and one for the motor and your trying to start it using the frame ground and will burn up the frame ground and have a whole new problem. quick check is to hook the jumper cable to the ground on the battery then to the engine block, bet it starts up.

Ground cable

I'm assuming you are referring to the battery ground cable. There is often a dedicated stud/bolt location to secure the ground cable, but really, any clean, bare surface on the engine block will do as long as you can fasten the cable securely and keep it clear of moving parts and hot surfaces. Many cars have the ground cable attached to the motor mount bracket where it bolts to the block.

Check all ground connections from battery to engine, battery to body/frame and motor to frame/body ground strap for corossion. THe fasteners can corrode underneath and cause all kinds of problems.

Need the wireing diagram for 1997 blazer Cant get power to nothing no dome light headlights or anything.. Want to know were the grounds to the motor come from..

Well most have coated wire from batterie to motor then another flat bare braided ground strap from the rear of the motor to the firewall and yet another on the outside of the frame rail to the cab.You can always take a set of jumper cables and run from the negative of the batterie to something bare metal in the cab, like the parking brake bracket.Well hope this helps and goog luck.

My instrument panel is not registering anything. What do you think is the problem?

The fuse may be bad, check that first, or it may be a bad frame ground, which is different than the ground cable from battery.
Frame ground could be another wire coming from the negitive cable, check for corrosion ect.
