Nope it is not a coincidence as the 2011 x5 is not rated for that bio diesel and has probably damaged the fuel system

Need to know what "trans failsafe mode" message

Trans failsafe is "Limp" mode, it means a sensor has triggered due to a fault in OBC. You need to bring it to BMW or a competent shop to have a fault scan done to identify the actual cause. Limp mode allows you to drive short distance (so you're not stranded roadside)

Replaced Battery but battery light and Service Engine light are still on after driving 1 mile. Back in the driveway but I'm told it could be a fuse. Which fuses should I look at. The car has only 55,000...

It's not a fuse. You need the lights reset with an OBII scanner. BMW or any specialty shop can do it for you, some parts stores also and most will do it FREE.

My Saturn 2003 Vue has 146,000 miles and all of sudden will not go into gear. No warning lights or engine lights came on.This is a 4 cylinger 2.4 engine front wheel drive. What could be the problem?

DOES THE VEHICLE SEEM TO GO INTO LIMP MODE AROUND 20 MILES BEFORE IT DOES THIS. IF THIS OCCURS THEN THERE IS A SENSOR ON THE TRANSMISSION WHICH CAUSES THIS PROBLEM CHECK WITH YOUR DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU MORE INFORMATION

BMW X5 2004 TRANS FAILSAFE PROG

Hi; If I get the 'Trans Failsafe Prog" message twice within about 2 hours, The SES light will go on automatically. Since I do not seem to have any real transmission problems, this SES message clears itself in about 24 hours. The "Trans Failsafe Prog" messageseems to be used to indicate other transmission problems as well, like loss of transmission fluid, so be careful. I have a 2002 X5. Cheers. Omer

Ihave a 2005 X5(march) and it lost power yesterday and i took it to the bmw dealer on the isle of man and found out that the turbo had broken. It only has done 38000 miles on the clock ,its out of warranty...

hi, this is a low milage for a turbo failure , it may be worth asking for a goodwill payment where BMW will pay for the cost of the turbo. It all depends on how much fuss you make, hope this is of some help.
