1990 Dodge Dynasty idles when cold but won't idle when it warms up. Could this be the EGR?

It is remotely possible but it is more likely to be the IAC motor having the pintle stuck in the rich position.
Check the computer for any codes before going off and hap hazardly changing parts. If you dont have a scanner let Auto Zone Parts Store scan it for free.
Hope this helps.

When engine starts it does not idle on the proper level. when it warms up it idles fine. I was told it might be my EGR valve. Is that a possibility?

yeah,. possible egr, but did you look at the IAC - Idle air control valve? -- controls the idle at cold engine temps by diverting the air from the manifold for heat to help warm up engine on cold start.

When warm the car does not idle. when its cold it starts and drives fine. when it warms up it shuts off and idles rough.

Find the egr valve on the intake. Look up on the internet what it looks like because it is difficult to describe. There will be one vacuum hose attached to it. Start the car and let it warm up. when it starts to hesitate remove the hose. If the engine holds idle, you need to replace the egr valve. The egr (EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION) valve allows the engine to re burn the exhaust gas when the engine is cold to clean up the emissions at the tail pipe. They tend to get stuck in one position from carbon build up and need replacement.

Our dodge dynasty runs for a while but keeps stalling out on us, we have to leave it sit for about an hour but then it starts and goes a little way and conks out again we have already replaced the fuel...

Have your throttle body cleaned and if this does not solve it have the cars IAC idle air control checked to insure it is working this should take care of your concern.

1990 Cavalier 2.8 runs fine cold/rough when warm

Vacuum leaks. EGR. PCV valve. Head gasket. Timing chain. Fuel filter. Air filter. Idle control system or sensor. Engine ground. Could be lots of things. Any more info? Any engine lights on?
