HI. Your system will take 1 3/8 Gallon (s) of Full Strength Anti-Freeze. This Specification amount is for a 50/50 ratio mix in the cooling system. Valucraft/50/50 will be a great choice.

Concerning the head gaskets:

Both gaskets will run about $24.00 a piece; $48.00 total. There is also a head gasket set that includes all gakstes(head, intake, exhaust, etc) This will run $205.18. This isnt neccesry if you have isolated the failed gasket, but if you suspect multiple gasket leaks, I would purchase the set.

    • 2 gallons of Valucraft will be the limit from empty to full. Do not overfill past the 2 gallon mark.

    Correction:

2 1/2 gallons will be the limit cap on your model. Sorry for the confusion...

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWER, NOW IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I CAN HAVE PUT IN THE CAR SUCH AS BLUE DEVIL OR LIQUID GLASS TO SEAL IT OFF GOOD ENOUGH FOR A TEMPORARY FIX A FEW DAYS UNTIL I GET ANOTHER CAR? I JUST NEED TO USE IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK, THEN I CAN TAKE IT TO ITS FINAL RESTING PLACE.. BUT I DON'T WANT IT TO SUFFER WITH OVERHEATING.

BLESS YOU AND I WILL REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME.

Hello Pat; You can certainly use a liquid seal for a short time. This is only a temporary fix, and it wont last very long. Maybe on month, tops. You can find these sealants at your local parts stores. very easy to apply, as well.

My 2000 SL2 is still overheating after all has been replaced i.e. water pump, radiator, I took the thermostat out (but when the cars is running, there isn't a good flow of water) the head gasket too.

Did you flush the system out before installing the new water pump? Scale may have loosened up and blocked some flow. Reverse flush the engine, radiator and heater core. Removing the thermostat for testing is ok, but don't plan to run it like that. It may actually run hotter without the thermostat.

Its a 2000 cadillac deville the oil motor goes to the radiator what can I do

Engine oil going to radiator is a cylinder head problem.
Either
1. Cylinder head gasket burnt
2. Cylinder head bolts not tight enough
3. Cylinder head cracked
4 Cylinder head warped.

Remove cyliner head and pressure test it for cracks. If cracked replace unless someone near you can repair effectively. If not then skim and you might as well do a complete cylinder head service ie valves, stem seals etc. Put back head with new gasket and torque correctly and be surprised with the results.

I HAVE 2004 MONTE CARLO. THE HOT COOLANT TEMP LIGHT HAS COME A FEW TIMES. THE HEATER ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR FOR A BIT AND THEN EVENTUALLY HEATS UP. THE CAR NEVER SEEMS TO RUN HOT THOUGH. I HAVE BEEN TOLD...

A blown head gasket is usually easy to confirm. The head gasket prevents the engine coolant and oil from mixing under the head. If you have a blown head gasket, you should be able to see bubbles of water/cooland on the dip stick when you check your oil.

I do agree that with your heater taking a while to get warm, it probably has some build-up in the system that needs to be flushed out, before it causes other issues.

Best of luck!

Engine over heats 2000 cadallic deville northstar engine

flush your radiator first.with the thermostat out you should see the water moving if not bad water pump.this engine needs the thermostat to function properly and either a 50/50 coolant or straight coolant so it does not boil over.also make sure your fans are coming on

Coolant in crankcase

You may have a blown head gasket. One of the head gasket's job is to prevent coolant and oil from entering specific parts of the engine. Over time the gasket wears down and holes appear. Your cooland may have passed through these holes causing it to mix with oil. You would notice steam appear at the tail pipe, where some of the coolant may mix with the exhaust as a result of this.
