You might have, and this is from your explanation without seeing, of course, may be a wheel bearing issue.
First, the brake pulsation is due to warped brake rotors, and they should be replaced, but the bearing in your case could also be an issue. The bearings also have a wheel speed sensor in them and that will effect the tration control. Get it checked out!

The traction control and transmission shifting would involve the body computer more so than the engine computer.
Have you had the body computer scanned for trouble codes ?

Hi, your right front wheel bearing has failed. This induces vibration to the wheel speed sensor pickup that caused the traction control fault. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

I just changed my tranny on my 1997 DeVille and now the traction light and ABS come on. When that happens, the traction and ABS don't seem to work but the brakes work normally. If I stop the engine and...

There is a good possibility that this may not be a transmission related issue but a bearing hub assembly which may be going bad. The abs sensor is contained the with in the wheel bearing. They may be able to put a scan tool on it and let you know what codes are disabling the abs and traction control but quite possibly just a bad wheel bearing.
