Question about 2003 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
1. Check up the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. Component disconnected: Electrical resistance between nr.#1 and #2 terminals, (see picture below), must have typical value = 450 ... 550 Ohms. CKP sensor incorporates engine speed (RPM) sensor function. Replace sensor if necessary!
2. Check up the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Component disconnected, ignition "ON": Electrical supply voltage between nr.#1 and #3 terminals, (see picture below), must have typical value = 11 ... 14 Volts. Electrical supply voltage between nr.#1 terminal and earth, (see picture below), must have typical value = 11 ... 14 Volts. Engine control relay must be fitted and working correctly in order to carry out supply voltage checks. Replace sensor if necessary!
